My ...Love your blog, congrats on all those hits!!! My favorite book when I was a child was a collection of Hans Christian Anderson's stories. It was a large book that had beautiful illustrations. One of my favorite books that I read to my children was Jan Brett's "The Mitten". Again, I loved the illustrations. It's about a white mitten lost in the snow and lots of wild animals crawl into it to get warm before the child finds it again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6168207000930316193.post-60088819359332044252007-10-28T17:39:00.000+00:002007-10-28T17:39:00.000+00:00The Velveteen Rabbit is my VERY VERY favorite!! I loved when the skin horse talked to the stuffed rabbit about becoming real...and I think it speaks to children who have an "imaginary" friendship with their 'lovey'... when you are loved so much and so deeply, you ARE real...if only to that child. Love is magical and I think this story illustrates that beautifully.
Thanks for asking!!
Kim LeachKim Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11821594634561242039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6168207000930316193.post-64075718994739467222007-10-28T14:04:00.000+00:002007-10-28T14:04:00.000+00:00Wow, congratulations on all the hits! Couldn't get enough of stories about horses, and really animals in general. One of my favorite children's books now is called Parts by Tedd Arnold. A friend gave it to me a few years ago after we were in a car accident and I felt like my whole body was just falling to pieces. The story is about a little boy who things he's falling apart because he loses pieces of hair when he brushes it, his tooth falls out, dry skin flakes off - it's hilarious. At the end his parents tell him it's all normal...Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16642406989299255677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6168207000930316193.post-47605653510178127202007-10-28T13:38:00.000+00:002007-10-28T13:38:00.000+00:00I Loved to read as a child and still do. He had such imagination and I loved to read those to my kids when they were little. And of course I'm glad to see Curious George has come back in the past few years. SIGH I'm sensing a pattern here I guess I liked inquisitive stories. :) Have a wonderful day. I love the penguin ones.
Sadly I don't remember reading much as a child but I have always made such my children had plenty of books to read. One of my favorites I would try and read to my kids was Love you Forever by Robert N. Munsch. I say try and read because more times than not I would tear up and not be able to finish. The recipe that I used was a cookbook from Scholastic - one that I bought with my own money back in FRIST GRADE... Now I am not telling how old I am, but I can tell you that it was a VERY long time ago! I was thinking to myself that this is my absolute favorite kids book of all time...if anyone lays a hand on it in my house they better be careful with it! It's a nice bedtime story that is about a young rabbit trying to postpone going to sleep. He says goodnight to everything he sees. It was a fun and relaxing activity as my young children and I would say goodnight to the same things the rabbit was in the book. When it was over, it was night night time.

I so miss those days. My girls are now teenagers and still love Goodnight Moon :) We still have the book and everytime they see it they always exclaim how much they loved it being read to them.

Congrats on the huge number of hits.
