C4C300 Crazy for Challenges - Ride the Wind

Hello and today is a first for a VERY long time, but hopefully not the last.  I decided I wanted to join in a few challenges and I have joined the Crazy For Challenges C4C300 with this Cats Pajamas stamp.  I love these rabbits!  Such fun.  I teamed this stamp up with the Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Craft Designs Spiral Circle Pull Die but I decided not to use the spiral part so its just a Circle Pull Card.  The inside is just more clouds so I didn't photograph that but, but when I am ready to send this to someone I will add the greeting inside.

I also use the foliage from the Karen Burnison All Season tree to make the clouds.  I use
this die all the time for clouds.

The Karen Burniston Dies can be purchased from Crafts U Love
The stamp is from my stash so you'll have to try and source it yourself.

So I hope you have enjoyed my first challenge card of this year!!  I might be back with another one soon if my mojo can keep up.

These past weeks its been school holidays, which mostly have involved juggling the boys
between me and my Mum.  What would I do without her?    Anyway, Harvey has got massively into Warhammer and I have really enjoyed helping him paint some models too.  I love that it gets him off the gadgets, the creative side of building and painting and then the social
side of going to Warhammer store to play.  There is a lot of reading and counting involved too
so its all good for many reasons.

Here's Harvey painting this morning, look at the concentration!

And here is the Orc that I painted

It looks better in real life, they are so small and so hard to get a good photo as you can see the details.  But I am enjoying the painting a lot!  As they say "A change is as good as a rest".

I'll be back soon with another post, this time showing off some of the Minc
projects I made.

Long time

Hey bloggers. Apologies,  its been a busy time. Crafts u love demo then onto summer hols. Just seems  to be one thing  after another.  ITV came  this week to film me in the Crafty Palace!  for the Lorraine Show. Air date tba... seems  my Palace just draws people in.. and as much as I hate to see it hear  myself I just thought you know what, Just do it  life's too short its a bit of fun and I'd like to say fortune but unfortunately not! LOL

Anyway here is a card I made for my brothers birthday which was Monday which I was so annoyed  as I left his card at home and still haven't managed to get it round since.   Also sending my brother healing hugs as he broke 2 ribs on the Wednesday and spent 2 nights in the local hospital so all in all not a great birthday week for him.

Here on the outside of the card I have used the
MFT TV, Joy Crafts Glitter Washi Tape and decorated with
my newest toy, the Minc Machine which I created the foiled
NEWSFLASH with the Holographic Foil
All Items from Crafts U Love

Here on the inside of the card I used the Karen Burniston Lucy Label Pop Up
together with the Elizabeth Craft Balloon and again created the wording
It's Time to Celebrate and ALMOST the BIG one! for the inside with my PC
and blinged it up with my Minc machine.
Again all items from Crafs U Love

I love the Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Crafts Pop it Up dies when you
want something a little different and the Lucy Label pop up is a very easy
but effective die to create cards with a bit more interest.

I had a demonstration yesterday using my Minc machine so I will be back soon
with some more cards.  Also a lovely (If I dont say so myself) Vintage Wedding card, once I have the nod that it is ok to share.

Toodle pip!

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge August part 2

Hello!

I am back with day two of the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for August and here is my second Inspired Creation.

Here is are the amazing cards I was inspired by.  Both by Shelly Hickox and both marvellous creations that really got my brain ticking :)

I LOVED the Steampunked Poppy the Owl and I wanted to use that.

But I also loved Shelly's amazing Tunnel card that she made using the Accordion Die.
So I set about making a card using both these elements.

Shelly has a full tutorial for the Tunnel card HERE

Here you can see some of how the tunnel card looks, mine does not open up as much as I glued the "you are awesome" inside and it means it doesn't open as much but still
has some depth.

Here is the front of my Tunnel card.  I used the Rectangle Accordion, Gears and clock from the clock set and Poppy the Owl.  Its not as grungy as Shelly's masterpieces, but that is pure Shelly style, she does that so well. Mine is a bit more sedated Steampunk but I must say I was impressed when Caiden saw my card he exclaimed he liked my "Steampunk Owl".

Rectangle Accordion, Poppy and the Clock can be purchased from Crafts U Love

Please take time to look around the blogs listed top left they are the awesome ladies
in the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge Team.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - August - Inspired Creations

I LOVE THIS MONTHS CHALLENGE!

This months challenge is : Inspired Creations - we've all been blown away by each others work month after month and here's your chance to show a fellow teammate how much they've inspired you. Pick any project from any Designer Challenge going back to the beginning and use it as inspiration for a new card. You could be inspired by a technique, a color scheme, a combination of dies - anything.

Being this this Design Team is one of the most inspiring ones I know and I know that I look at my fellow teamies work in awe and admiration for the work they do.  The biggest challenge here was to choose what I would use for my inspiration and to be honest I think I am challenging myself extra to try and continue this challenge through out the year as there is nothing wrong with using someones talents to kick start your mojo or just give an idea.

First up I have chosen Helen Cryer's amazing Accordion and Tag combo card.  She has used the most amazing colours and Buster the Dog, Whiskers the cat for hers.  I chose the die combo to showcase this amazing mix but styled it in my own way using some of the new Farm 2 Collection.

This is Helen's amazing card :)

I love every thing about this!  You can see Helen's original post HERE

So for the front of the card you can see that I have used Cocoa the Horse
onto the Oval Accordion which has been used as a stand alone panel and not as an accordion.  I have decorated with the Hay from Hey there and the Fence and cloud edgers too.  I was a bit miffed that i messed up the colours and I got blue background which made the clouds blue  (opps)  but i'd already gone too far in to worry to change it :)

For the centre I have used the Tag Pivot and decorated that with the Tag pivot decorative dies
and again the Hey there set as well.

For the last panel I have more or less used the same as the first panel, but this time decorated
it will William the Goat.

I really enjoyed making this card.  And I must remember to use this combo more often.
This just proves that the Karen Burniston Pivot Dies and Accordion dies can work
so well together.

I will be back tomorrow with another card that I was inspired to make.

Crafts U Love have these dies in stock NOW and for now and I am not sure how
long the Newest arrivals from Karen Burniston are at a
fabulous Introductory price.
