Prismacolor Pencils

As you know I finally sharpened mine and here are my first two cards. Think I did OK? Any eperts want to cast a critical eye over them will be welcome.

Yummy, funny and Sunny!

Cute Tilda, HUGE flower, Doodlebug Paper and Jewels, scalloped card and a Craftwork Cards word thingie.

I Loved colouring this in. Wall, Tree and Tilda are Magnolia, Flowers, Zoomz and another Craftwork Cards word thing. Little bit of ribbon and we're done!

I wanted to ask, What Ink is best for working with these pencils? I have used Staz on but it seems some of the outline has moved too ;0(

Magnolia Fun

If you have ever looked on my fav blog list you will know I love these stamps. Kim was kind enough to stamp me some images and here is another card I have made using these. I can not wait until I can order some of own of these.

Circle was cut with Cricut at 3", the small scallops were scallop scissors and the large purple circle is using some wave scissors. I also used some ribbon brads, these are from Crafts U Love

I think I will add some wording to this, but I assembled this card downstairs whilst both my boys snore away :) BLISS both boys napping is great!! I know Harvey is 4, but he still does get tired and as its not school for 6 weeks he is bound to go to bed late. So for now this card will stay as it is. I may just leave the words until I know who and for what I am using this card for.

Orange and pink and 3 circles??? are you sure?!

Kim, bless her [said through gritted teeth] threw me a challenge. Orange and Pink colour scheme and including three circles. So here it is. I used one of the Magnolia images that she sent me, I coloured with prismacolour and Sansodor and I used two ribbon brads as one of my circles and the wording as the other. Oh how I had fun colouring these images yesterday, I have two more coloured but not made into cards yet. I cant wait to do them.

So Kim, I did it! Do you likey? I LOVE LOVE those images :) Cant wait to get some of those stamps. They are perfect for me as I just LOVE to colour and these are beautiful to colour.

I got the ribbon brads from Crafts U Love at their birthday weekend. I was demonstrating them and of course I had to buy one of each. There are 2 different colour ways, Bright and Pastel and three different shapes, Stars, circles and flowers. They have a special offer on for them at the moment. Yesterdays card

I dont know what was up with blogger last night but it wouldnt let me post anything. So here is the card I made yesterday. I managed to sneek a little birdy into the card.

Materials Used : Hero Arts Bird, Stampin Up! Flourishes, Penny Black flowers, White Brilliance Ink Pad, Black Versafine, Stream Adirondack dye Ink Pad, Water Brush, Prismacolour Pencils and Gamsol eqivalant, narrow black pen, ribbons

How To :

1/Stamp bird with ink and colour lightly with prismacolour pencils, blend with stumps and sansodor liquid.

2/Stamp flowers image with dtream dye ink and lightly colour using the aquabrush to make the outline run.

3/Stamp white flourishes onto blue bazzill base card

4/Take length of ribbon and tape to back of white card, wrapping around the front of the stamped panel, take smaller length of ribbon in different shade and tie this onto orginal ribbon.

5/Make photo corner by shaping a triangle of cardstock. Mount white card onto basecard and then add photo corner. Add detailing to outside of white card using the narrow black pen.

Sorry, I could never resist a pun on words.... so finally I went up and looked at my card. I kinda liked it, kinda didnt so I chopped it some and was happier. I think this card looks nicer in real life than it does the photo. The colours are a weird choice of mix, but I like them, I maybe should have added more pink to the birds, but I didnt know I was going down the pink route until I was there. I still want to play with this set more, perhaps when I am feeling more creative I will do better. Thanks for looking.

Here's my first attempt with the Prismacolor

OK here is the much talked about card that I was playing with. Harvey had a party to go to today so I thought that I would combine the technique with a card I actually needed.

Materials Used : Whippersnapper stamp, Prismacolor pencils, Sansodor and Stumps, Rob and Bob paper, Alphalicous cricut, Crystal Glitter Glue, pink sheer ribbon.

Here are a few comments on my first experiences with it.

• I colour very lightly with watercolour pencils so I found it hard to make the colour much more intense, I will have to practise with this.
• I am used to watercolour pencils and the way you can pull the colour around much more
• I didnt use the correct weight cardstock. This was actually quiet smooth card and I think something with little more tooth will work better

That said I am actually quiet pleased with the results.

On a totally different note we had a 10 hour powercut today. Wow! how you miss the electric when it is gone. Lucky we have a gas hob so we could at least boil the water for Caidens bottles and make us cups of tea. I went out and brought sausages and burgers for a bar-be-cue but the coals weren't playing ball and I had to give up that idea and chuck a couple into the frying pa for Harvey who was getting very hungry and starting to sound like a scratched record with his "where is my burger" over and over again! I knew there was a reason I brought a gas hob though, exactly for this reason.

Thats all for now, I'll be back tomorrow and hopefully be able to play a bit more with these pencils. I wont let them beat me, I will fall in love with them!
