Paper Pros challenge October - Holiday Cards

Hi Friends
Its an early Paper Pros this month as the date next week clashed with something else for most of the other ladies, I admit it caught me out as I have been flat out with cards for the launch of Julie Hickey Designs Christmas collection on Hochanda and then the Crafts U Love Birthday event.  Been making cards like a woman possessed!  Therefore today snuck up on me, and I have to admit to using one of my samples from the Birthday Event for today's post.  That is fine though as it fits the bill perfectly.

Today's card is in the Christmas theme and I used one of my favourites in the New Karen Burniston range IN STOCK AT CRAFTS U LOVE.  The Frame Pull Pop up.  Which has been decorated using the Woodware Mousy Christmas stamp.

This fantastic die can be decorated with dies, toppers and stamps and this
is the image that I used on the top.  I took the design and cut it into several separate mice and used this one on the front.

The inside when you pull the "Pull tab" is perfect to nestle this
cute cuddling couple and a cute little message.
** sorry about the messy photo for this "open" one.

Check out what the other Paper Pros are up to on their blogs

The Karen Burniston dies can be purchased from
Crafts U Love in the UK who ship worldwide or alternatively from
Karen Burniston.com in the USA.

Paper Pros May Challenge - No Socks days

Today its the Papers Pros challenge day, also NO SOCKS DAY!  Yes this is an actual day.  We the Paper Pros are celebrating with our own version of No Socks Cards.

Now most of the Paper Pros are part of the Karen Burniston Design team and they have just recently had a beachy theme card challenge.  Oh how fun and beautiful their cards were.  Myself not taking part with these challenges now I could not wait for today's challenge so I could make my own beachy card.

Yesterday in the UK it was Bank Holiday Monday and what a beautiful one it was.  We spent a few hours down Worthing Beach and it was indeed a no socks day then.

Here is the front of the card.  Was heavily inspired by Karen Burniston's
card from a while back.  I will list at the bottom the die sets used and there were a lot of them.

Here you can see the mermaid popping out from behind the main panel.
I used a Woodware Stamp set for the wording but adjusted it to say BEST FISHES instead of Best Wishes.

Dies used :

Happy Birthday - Sausage Dog

I made this card for a work colleague who's birthday is tomorrow.

I used the new Anitas Frame Pop up card die and the Woodware Sausage dog stamp.  Along with the Flower Stage it Stencil with white ink around the edge of the orange cardstock.

On the front I decided to use the cute Sausage Dog stamp and it so happened the
card was only the width of the back end of the sausage dog and its ADORABLE
wooly jumper!

This is the inside and you  can see the amazing pop up die in all its glory
and the head part of this cute dog fits perfectly!  I covered the little
hat with a pretty flower and added a sentiment from Karens stamps.
Again the flower stencil has been used with the white ink.

I hope you like the card I have shared today.

I am back tomorrow with a Challenge card for the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

Until then xx

Even more .. its a foxy day

I am eking this out aren't I?  Well I figured I cant spoil you all too much with so many cards in one post.

Here I have used a Woodware Stamp (LOVE THIS STAMP) to demonstrate how you can overstamp in a dark colour
to bring back some of the detail once you have coloured.  I love this technique.  Works
very for the "no line colouring" in bringing back some of the detail lost.
The Daisy is from the Stampendous BUILD A BOUQUET die and stamp set.

This once was made using the Stampendous FOREST FRIENDS stamp and die set
ARGH!  Just noticed my second gem has fallen off!! LOL :)

I will be back tomorrow with 2 more cards and I have 2 more to photograph and that will be it :)

Crafts U Love - Create and Take - Woodware "Special Bird"

I helped out this week by designing the create and take at work.  I do love the Francoise Read Woodware designs and I do have a "thing" about birds.  You can find all the Woodware stamp designs HERE   I have many more on my "Wish List" and Woodware stamps are always such a good price too :)

A simple card with some paper piecing and colouring.  One of my favourite colours being Orange and worked well on this flower.

I also used the Marianne Banners set

Karen Burniston Challenge - November - Red, White or Blue

I am a day early with this one, but when you see my card you will know why I wanted to post it today.

This months theme is Red, White or Blue.  Making cards/creations that are mainly one of those colours.

Here is the first card, I have so far made a red and white card and if I get a chance I will get a blue one done too.  Today being Remembrance Sunday  and seeing the beautiful poppies at the tower of London on the news, we've been seeing red poppies everywhere.  A very moving and beautiful sight.  Sadly didn't make it to see them in real life but I have had many friends that did.

On this card I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs/Karen Burniston Lucy Label
pop up for the main stage.
Stamped onto that the Penny Black Poppy Fields.  This is an older design (2005)

I coloured most of the image in grey and gave a burst of colour
just colouring the one red one that he is holding.

With today in mind I am saying Thank you to all who gave so much
in order that we could all live our lives as we do now.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them

Christmas Card - Create and Take for work

We've been giving our customers at work some Christmas ideas all month and here was my contribution for this past Fridays Create and Take.

I used the Woodware Robin stamp and the Karen Burniston Lorna Label die too.

The Bo Bunny Fa la la la La paper worked perfectly with the "tis the season" stamp
that came with the robin set.

Who could not be jolly with this cute little birdie inside the card?!

You can get the paper, robin stamp and Lorna Label from www.craftsulove.co.uk

Yesterdays Create and Take

Yesterdays Create and Take at Crafts U Love was made by me :)  Usually the very talented Suzie Q and Paula Baughan design these cards but with Suzie Q off on her holiday I was asked to have a go.  I do hope the ladies enjoyed my festive patchwork card.

I have used the Woodware Patchwork Dove for this card.  Along with the Woodware Holly, Star and Square punches.  A little bit of paper piecing on the birds wing and body and its done :)

A couple of funny pictures to share.  Myself and friend Karen went to another friends house last
night for girlie chat and Big Brother watching.  Trisha told us we had to come dressed as Jedward
this was the closest we were going to get!! LOL  Harvey modelling this mask for me ;0)

Also yesterday afternoon Harvey and I did a bit of soapmaking with a kit
he got and we made this lovely "Brain and Finger" soap!!

Monday marks the start of a very special Woodware and ????  blog hop!!

Woodware Challenge "Look what I did with my File Folders"

Apologies for posting late.  This challenge was challenging to me, but I came up with a cute card
this has been made for a teacher, but change the main images and the small ones pugged up inside the folders
and it can be for anything.

I had many ideas but they didnt work with the stuff I had to hand.  I figured most would be
doing some sort of book type thing so went for the original idea I had.

Check out the link for Woodware above in my tabs.

My first day

My first day off work when the kids haven't been around.  I spent most of the morning pottering around the house, resisting the urge to drive to work to get some new Penny Black stamps and talking with the lovely Dorothy the DT head for Woodware.  Lunch then after lunch a short spot in my Palace for a cardmaking session.

I made this card.  Its another 8 x 8.

I played with lots of things on here.

The striped paper and the light blue are from a Paper stack called LOST IN PARADISE from
GCS Studios and it comes from WOODWARE - ask your local stockist to order it in :)

The Stamp of course is Penny Black
The cloud shame is a cute punch from Fiskars via Crafts U Love
The fence is Magnolia, grass is Martha
The cloud stamp is a stamp I have had for a billion years from All Night Media
Now all i need is the missing sun stamp I tore my shed apart looking for :(  I cant find
it I don't know who made it.  I have googled too to see if I can buy it again. Alas its lost.

I might save this card for Caidens 5th Birthday next month.

Hope you like

PS sorry for all the selling posts but I am trying to raise funds for

Waiting for Tuesday

That's all Harvey is interested in, Tuesday as he is 8 on that day :)  He is soooooo excited!

I made this card tonight, all was going well until I "wonkily" stamped his name on it.  But by then I didn't have the energy to start again.  He'll love it, wonkiness and all.

I used my Cricut to cut and weld the 8's
Woodware Mice for the main images
Tip of finger for the white dots!
Stampin Up! for the wonky letters

Got lots of buzzing about tomorrow to get things ready for his birthday :)  Its so lovely when they are
young and very excited.  He has been going mad all week everytime he thinks about how close it is now.

School Holidays

Kids have mostly been with nanny and me mostly working.  Poor Caiden was sick for 4 days.  Thankfully he has perked right up now but its horrible for them when they are ill during their week off.

Here is another owl card made using the lovely Woodware stamp set.

Went out geocaching today.  Found 5 and we are all worn out!  A lot of walking, least my feet were warm and dry in my wellies :)

Sundays ramblings

Hi there, I had a nice day yesterday at the Glitter Pot where I was teaching two classes. One was waterfall cards where we made a "tweet" card using the Hero Arts birt set and some Phoebe Basic Grey paper which was just made to go together.
One lady brought along her friends explosion box that she was inspired to make after seeing my article in Card Making and Papercraft. It was lovely to see it, she did a great job. She also brought in her Inspiration Jar, another thing I have made for CMPC and should be out this next issue. I actually made my first one years ago on Splitcoast stampers.

We were also playing with one of the new Woodware clear stamp sets and making some cute polar bear cards. Funny on a sunny day like yesterday we were making icy cool cards!

On this one I used the fab cuttlebug folders, snowflakes and devine swirls. Cut the scalloped edge with my wave scissors and finished off with glitter glue. These photos are really bad. I am bad at the best of times but I hate taking them in the evening with the flash as it just blacks out the background and is just horrible.

Today Harvey has a party to go to and I need to make a card for his friend. Can you believe my lazy husband is still in bed at 10:35am !!! I am luck if I ever get a lay in past 7:30am .... I think I am going to let the boys in on him, after all I have to make this card, cook the dinner ect ect and I cant do any of it looking after the boys. Men eh?
Also yesterday we had a fab time at my brothers where we were invited for a bar be cue. It was lovely to come home from work and know I didnt have to wash up. Boys loved it and the food was yummy.
