Woodware Funny Folds

Today its my turn at the Woodware blog for Funny Folds.  Now folds can be making cards or as I have chosen a box.  Now I got this fab box from the Splitcoast Stampers website and in their resources section.  I was thinking of making tutorial for it but figured their instructions are fantastic and "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

So here is the link for what they call the A2 card box.  This box could quiet happily hold 6 cards and envelopes and would make and lovely gift.

When I saw the Woodware New Releases the stamp set that made me "squeak" with excitement (literally) was the little Garden Gnomes Clear Magic set FRCL202 and also the Woodland and Mushroom house.  All that colouring opportunity!

So I went about making my box following the instructions. And had such fun decorating it.

Here I have used the gnome, the ribbon border cassette to make a cute little fence, daisies and gems

Here you can see I  have used the wheelbarrow and mushroom (fairy tots set) to decorate the
edges of the box.

Now for the real fun!  And I made 4 cards to go inside the box.

My plans were to make more but as with any time you have plans the kids often have plans of their
own and Harvey didn't feel well so I had to sit with him instead of making more cards.  Still
this gives you a general idea on how wonderful this set is!!

Check in tomorrow to see what Debbie has made

Woodware Anything but a card Challenge

The challenge this week over at the Woodware Blog is "Anything but a Card".  Today I have decided to decorate a Pencil Box with some lovely little birdies and flowers :)  I have decorated a few of these boxes for the boys teachers at school and they make lovely gifts.

I used the Woodware Empty Pencil box to decorate 2865I painted it with white acrylic paint, slightly watered down to make it thinner.  I didnt want to completely "white out" the box, simply cover the kraft with a covering of white.

I then used a reverse side of the Lost In Paradise 8 x8 pads the light yellow paper with the white grid on it.  Stamped with black ink and coloured with markers, stamping the solid flowers onto the paper in 2 shade of orange.  I distressed the edge with ink in a light brown colour and stuck this onto the top of the box. I went onto further decorated the inside top and bottom of the box with the same stamps.  The birds were stamped onto white card and coloured with markers and stuck onto the box.

To hide the popper at the front I cut a small Plum Punch in orange paper and then stamped a flower onto white card and cut with a small circle punch.

Additionally I sponged glitter glue around the edge of the lid.

I need to restock on these boxes as I think they might be the teachers gifts again!

Chick, Chick, Chick, Chick Chicken!

Lay a little egg for me :)

My neighbour is rescuing 3 chickens from their life in hell in a battery farm.  She gets them today so I made this little welcome for them.  She has a adorable chicken coup and all the gear.  They will be in a very sorry state when they get here.  No feathers (or certainly lacking)  never seen daylight and not being able to walk :(

It will take some time but I will look forward to the time they start getting better and living a happy life.

Had a fantastic holiday.  Utterly exhausted after it!  Anyone done Butlins with 2 kids will understand.
Have a stinking cold right now so feeling very rough but lots of cards to make for lots of friends who are celebrating their birthdays this week. Also the shop I have been selling my cards at has sold quiet a few of mine so that's great news, few little pennies to spend.

Here are a few of my fav pictures from holiday.

Show me Sunday will re-launch again today.... I just need to go and find something I want to give away!!

Simple Frames

I painted and stamped these frames the other day to go with the girly sets I made.  These were special little birthday gifts for 4 little girls.

Very delicate stamping on these you can hardly see it.

Harvey was invested into cub scouts last night.  Very proud.  This was him after the investment with his new green woggle and cub jumper.

I've made quiet a few cards lately in my shed at night but as its so late the photos are coming out really bad. My cards in the local shop have been selling well so I am really pleased about that.  Just need to keep on making them.

Enjoying it

I am LOVING my shed is moved.  I think I have been in it more since its been moved than I was in 3 years!  I pop in a out in the day for a few minute with the kids off its hard to grab more than that.  But I am able to sit out for a hour or two in the evenings, got my TV on, mostly on DVD (mostly Twilight and New Moon) as the aeriel is pretty rubbish and I can get to everything, its all there in one cosy little shed!  We've almost got the kids area fenced off, Milo is a but miffed about it and keeps poking his head through the picket fencing.   but he still has enough room to run and around and play, it will be fab for the kids to have a clean and separate place to play in.

Tomorrow at Crafts U Love I have designed this cute little project for the kids Create and Takes.  11am - 2pm  Just pop in if you are bringing a group please give us a ring before so we know how many are coming.  Last week we had 8 turn up a the beginning so maybe come at 12 or later?!  Costs £3 for the kids  - Paula tells me these little pots wont be going home empty, *wink *wink with Easter on its way there might be a little something sweet inside :)

Drum Roll please......

Its take me a while but I hope you like my cute little project that I have made with YET AGAIN "Mr Owl".

The triangles were bits I had pre cut from my cricut machine.
Mr Owl of course is from the Punch Bunch SAB set - FREE with a £45 order!
The buttons are the brights set from SU!
The hearts along the top are from the Love you Much set from SU
Dotty Papers from the Subtle's Designer Prints Pack
I have stamped in white the flowers from Sweet Summer SAB set but it is hard to see
I have used some Bakers Twine to tie together.

Each Owl has a different face, wings or heart formation on it.  it was great fun thinking of the different poses.  My favourite has to be the one holding the string of hearts.

At present its hanging in front of the desk I am working on now.  It's too cute to hide away!!

I dont do sewing

And there is good reason... I cant!! LOL  But for some reason I ended up making a Sock Monkey called "Booky" yesterday.  Now this was totally unplanned, hence using old odd socks.  He is fantastically rubbish, I am very proud of my poor attempt, it just add to his charm, all the hanging threads ect.

Here are 2 more Christmas cards.

This one is made using the Mimi stamp set from Penny Black

And this one was using Magnum my beloved feline friend from Ladybug Designs.  The snowflake stamps are Serene Snowflakes from Stampin up! and the punch is an old EK one.

So Tweet & exciting family news!

I made this sweet little birdy house box from instructions from Stamp With us which is an online classes programme. For mine I used All Stampin' Up! supplies. Unfortunately the bird isnt a UK stamp set, it is one I have been gifted from a friend in the USA. But who knows what might be coming in the new UK catalogue in October. I would be thrilled to have this set in it! wouldnt you?

Look at the yummy yellow ribbon, this is part of the 2 spools or ribbon bundle this month.

Very exciting day in our house today! Harvey went to the YMCA for his forth day of summer camp and he came home with one less tooth!! As I packed his apple this morning I thought it might get his tooth out. He has had a wiggly tooth for a while, not massively, like not hanging, but getting wobblier. Anyway, he bit his apple at lunch and his tooth became so loose that he had to pull it out. Apparently he was a bit upset about it. But now is very proud of his gap! I cant stop laughing as he looks so funny.

Fruity Tastic

I dont know why but I am in a fruity mood again! When I saw this adorable melon Template from http://www.animalscraps.blogspot.com/ by a lady called Elizabeth I just had to email her to get it.

I picked up this cute Strawberry Tilda yesterday and although its called Strawberry I thought she would look cute with this melon too. I coloured her with distress inks.

In hindsight I would make the handle a bit narrower. I opted for the handle this way as I needed something to stick the flower to as it was very thin and spindly. I have filled mine with the fruity stamps from Tart and Tangy from Stampin Up! and lots of red and green ribbons.

(dont forget my offer for Tart and Tangy ends July so visit http://www.stampingcaz.co.uk/ to see more on the stamps and papers offer)

Enjoy!

Little Box

I made this little box for my make and take for this Mondays Stampin' Up! party. Book a party with me and you and your friends could be making a box or card or something else!

All products are Stampin' Up! arent I a good girl? a Stampin' Up! project... they are few and far between on this blog! LOL

I used the simply said set, oval punches, old olive ink, so saffron ink and card, pumpkin pie card and ink. Some pens to colour the flower heart, a jewelled brad, a wheel who's name escapes me, sorry! the scallop edge punch too. I love this box, I learnt it last week at a demo meeting, there was a group of 8 of us who met up.
Hope you like it.

PS I have the stamping group meeting this saturday and also party monday so I am busy with making samples and make and takes for that so sorry if I am not about.

For Teacher

I like to make a little gift for Harveys teachers. Usually something I feel they might think comes in handy. I figure they have meetings, notes to take ect so I have made these cheap notebooks (£1 poundland) look a little more special.

You all know I love stamping, I will never give it up. But lately the ease of the digital image has been luring me in. I got these from the same place as before (see a few places down) The book for Miss Bremner has the cute little kitty AND mouse holding bouquet, now these are 2 different images, but thats the beauty of digital. You can make them bigger, make them smaller or even put two in the same picture! Cute eh?

I printed this onto some lovely white card I brought off my friend Kim! Thanks Kim its FAB!! Will you be able to get this for a while? or do I need to stockpile some?? And coloured with watercolour pencils and it didnt move one bit. The other book I used promarkers, again without problem.
I might add some ribbon to the edges, not sure yet.

Cross birdy

Aww this birdy is soooo cute but why I did that to his eye it makes him look soooo cross. This is made with the nestie birds and a little bit of free hand cutting for the legs. I really love these birds and I am going to make lots of them for the shed windows. Funny this morning Harvey looked at this one and said he looked cross, I thought it was just me and my imagination that thought he did look that way but he obviously does!
For this large bird I cut the smaller bird and chopped the beak off for the wing. I have all sorts of ideas buzzing about my head for different things I can do with this bird. Infact I might make something with this birdy this weekend for my make and take at Chicken Shack. We can use some of the beautiful patterned papers from Stampin' Up! as they are on special offer this month it will be a good chance to show these off.
I got these templates from a friend and I am not sure of a UK stockist as yet, when I find one I will edit the post.
