Harvey's Room Makeover

My brother in law has been living with us for some time and he moved out last week.  Operation "Harveys Room" was in full swing this weekend.  Harvey being the oldest got to choose which room he had and he chose this one.  Caidens room will get a make over next weekend.

This is the room and how it was.  We hadn't decorated since we moved in almost 9 years ago.

Harvey is 11 and loves Minecraft so we set about making it a cool Minecraft Inspired room.

Grey paint for the walls, a new carpet and some lovely stone block wallpaper.

Looking good with a new desk and chair, a blind and new bed cover

Lastly with some "Creeper" green curtains that my Mum made and the Vinyl
on the wall that I cut with my Cameo machine.  A really fabulous room don't you think?!

Thing 1 and Thing 2

Otherwise known as my Boys Harvey and Caiden dressed up yesterday (Thursday) as Thing1 and Thing2 from The Cat in the Hat for World book day.  Here they are dressed up and ready to go to school.  Those eagle eyed amongst you will spot Harvey wearing a little extra than his brother.

Yep, my gorgeous Thing1 Harvey was 9 on Thursday!  How the heck did that happen?
Here is his rather naughty cake.   Harvey is this year massively into Moshi Monsters so
most of his presents from me were Moshi related.

Here is the card I made him using Boofle designs from Crafts U Love

I did made Harvey a Moshi Monsters bunting but didn't get a good photo so I will sort
that out this weekend and post it.  Tomorrow we have 4 friends from school going bowling
and pizza hut.  We kept it small with the plan that we were able to fit them all in our car
but my cars gearbox had other ideas!  Its a shame as we could of in hindsite asked a few more!

Have a lovely weekend

Chatter

Its been busy this past week, not sure what with but not with crafting.  My Son, Harvey is going on cub camp tonight for 2 nights.  He is 8 and its the first time has has spent time away from us.  Mummy must be brave!!

My bunting orders keep rolling in, I currently have 4 to make :)  I have one to show off but since my blog is linked to facebook I cant share just encase it posts as the recipients Mum is on FB and she does not know.  So it will have to wait for a couple of days.

Likewise a wedding card for a friend tomorrow has been made but I can't share as I of course do not want her to see it before.

I have however got something very rare to share which I do not think I have shared before?!  I made a simple memory page last week for work, we needed our pages updated and we have some fab stamps and papers in all to do with the circus I thought these pics of Harv would be great.

And this little card hasnt been shown off yet either, so here he is :)  Party Owl.

Right better get ready for school runs and  I have lots to errands to run.

Chick, Chick, Chick, Chick Chicken!

Lay a little egg for me :)

My neighbour is rescuing 3 chickens from their life in hell in a battery farm.  She gets them today so I made this little welcome for them.  She has a adorable chicken coup and all the gear.  They will be in a very sorry state when they get here.  No feathers (or certainly lacking)  never seen daylight and not being able to walk :(

It will take some time but I will look forward to the time they start getting better and living a happy life.

Had a fantastic holiday.  Utterly exhausted after it!  Anyone done Butlins with 2 kids will understand.
Have a stinking cold right now so feeling very rough but lots of cards to make for lots of friends who are celebrating their birthdays this week. Also the shop I have been selling my cards at has sold quiet a few of mine so that's great news, few little pennies to spend.

Here are a few of my fav pictures from holiday.

Show me Sunday will re-launch again today.... I just need to go and find something I want to give away!!

Simple Frames

I painted and stamped these frames the other day to go with the girly sets I made.  These were special little birthday gifts for 4 little girls.

Very delicate stamping on these you can hardly see it.

Harvey was invested into cub scouts last night.  Very proud.  This was him after the investment with his new green woggle and cub jumper.

I've made quiet a few cards lately in my shed at night but as its so late the photos are coming out really bad. My cards in the local shop have been selling well so I am really pleased about that.  Just need to keep on making them.

Stampers Ten & other stuff

I am trying to find 2 more people for the stampers ten starting October.

Email me for more info

Remember most SU stuff will now be posted on my other site to keep this blog free (er) from all that :)

As for general cardmaking, I haven't been doing much recently, Harvey hasn't been well, has been waking me in the night for the last week and I have been getting very disturbed nights and ready for bed at 9pm but the  of course Big Brother has been keeping me up past that!  Have had 3 orders for my bunting recently so that is good :)

And here is my bitty bunting family.  These are cute and can be and I can make your family to suit your requirements so let me know if you want one by hopping over to my "Say it in bunting" website.

Of course it wouldnt be first day of school without my photo that I take each year.  Here is Harvey complete with his big bag (full of pencils and pens) he was so excited by taking his own bag now, what a big boy he is getting to be!   Here is Caiden who is now starting Reception.  He is still only part time and is going 9 - 12:15 He was very hungry when he came out from school today, they only had carrots as their "fruit" and veg and he doesnt eat carrots so was a bit hungry and tired  when I picked him up.  Straight home for lunch.

Darren made some cake with the boys yesterday. YUMM YUMM

Back to school means back to beavers tonight so I doubt very much anything creative will be made tonight either!

Be back soon xxx

I havent posted this yet

SO here is another card from me, I know, steady on Caz, there is a pattern forming... Stamping and posting.. Oh makes me soooo happy!

The main image is a Penny Black that I got from work.  The papers are imaginesce (spl) and the words are the fabulous words by Paula Pascal.  All in SU inks of course :)

Typical isn't it, Just said to hubby tonight how well boys are doing in room together and how Harvey hasn't had one of his night terrors.  Only to next hear Harvey having one!!

Also on a Harvey front, I don't think I told you on here about his latest thing??

Oh yes last Monday he broke his arm (again)  different arm, not a bad break but non the less a break and plaster!  He has had his cast on a week, it is BLACK!!  he has been playing outside, in the mud and dust, then he decided to accidentally dunk his arm in the bath... Not quite sure what to do about that, it seems dry now, still filthy.  He has to have it on until next Weds when we can take it off ourselves.

Oh the joys, he is off to the Y.M.C.A for the week for a play scheme thing.  Last year he went and lost a tooth, 2 of his school friends did too...  he is going with 6 wobbly teeth this time, we keep singing  "YMCA, you loose your teeth at the YMCA"!

March? where did that come from!

March already, cant believe it. 1st March marks my Harveys 7th Birthday and he had a lovely day yesterday :) Above is the card I made for him, a dinosaur hunter noless! Harvey loves (as you may know) dinosaurs, fossills and science and he got some lovely pressies yesterday. A dinosaur quilt cover, telescope, 4 lovely sciencey books, army torch and compass, a new bike, swimming lessons and some other bits and bobs. He cycled to school today. Wasnt too bad actually and what a beautiful sunny day.

I have a Tuesday at home and I love it! My course has finished and I have Tuesdays back. This weekend was a hard one. Worked all day Saturday then came home for 1 hour and then off to Beaver sleepover, 1 hours sleep that night and then work again Sunday. I felt very rough all day and yesterday too but today I feel more or less normal. The kids did great though, they are only 5 3/4 - 8 years, most are 6 and nearly 7 with only a few older ones. Most it would have been the first time away from their parents. Fun was had by all!
20 Minutes before I pick Woo up so I am going to stamp some little pads for Harveys party bags. He has a party at Pizza Hut and a make you own pizza party on Sunday. FUN!

Harveys Birthday

He had a lovely day, in his words "the best birthday on the planet" ;0) what more can you ask for eh? Here he is on his pressie from Nanny - its actually for both Harvey and Caiden and Christmas too!! This was 8-15am yesterday in his jammies! Not much garden left but hey, what are gardens for it they are aren't for kids and craft sheds?

I havent been creative much, been too much punishing myself for my stupudity and feeling why should I be happy as I dont deserve it, but thats not really the right way to think is it? So I need to buck my ideas up and make myself happy again. And it the words of Forrest Gump "thats all I have to say about that". I do love Forrest quotes and for a "stupid" man he was very wise ;0)
I remembered Saturday night I had better make Harvey a card so here is what I made.

I used images from High Hopes - from a friend Johanna - I hadnt got any of these stamps and she kindly sent me some. You can get High Hopes from www.diestodiefor.co.uk tell them Stampingcaz sent ya!

Craftwork Cards circle in yummy brown and the card candy too. I didnt have any number 6 or anything so I thought I would use one candy for each year! - coloured with pencils Paper is Stampin' Up!

Saturdays class at Crafts U Love was Forever Friends and I had to design a wedding, christening, birthday and Baby card - bit of a challenge as I dont go Wedding and Christening cards well, but they turned out ok!

Sale-a-bration is over and I am so pleased I tempted some of you to get the very lovely Polka Dot Punches set - you will love it!! One I will continue to use for personal stamping fun now.
Last and by no means least I was so so happy to have received an email yesterday from Dulcie from www.wildrosestudio.co.uk to say that I had been accepted into their Design Team and I cant wait to get some cards made with the cute cats I have here at home really soon. I did stamp a cat last night but that was as far as I got!! LOL

My Handsome Harvey is 5!

Harvey is five today and I wanted to share this lovely picture that I took last weekend. Its at Bexhill Beach and Harvey loved beachcoming and picking up shells and stones.

For the most part he is an adorable boy! Sweet natured and sensitive, but full of fun and mischief too. Of course he has a naughty side, wouldnt be normal without one. Since having Caiden I have released how lovely Harvey was as a toddler!

I Love you Harvey! Happy Birthday xxxx

What a difference a year makes.

This time last year I was having a crying Harvey pulled off my leg with me on the verge of tears. This year Harvey kissed me and ran in without a second glance. I am so proud of Harvey. He has come on leaps and bounds and is so confident now. This is really good as I was always a very shy kid and I didnt want him to be like me.

Here are some pictures of my big little boy :)
He is at reception for 3/4 hr longer today. He will go full time in Janaury.

Saved from the landfill and hours of fun!

We had a nice time on Saturday afternoon. We are lucky in that we are in a cul de sac and we have a car park outside. Its very quiet as its only the neighbours (4 houses) that drive down. OK, dont think we are bad people, but Darren went to work Friday and one of his friends found this yellow tractor in the skip. They looked it over and there is nothing wrong with it! So he brought it home for our boys. Just needed a little scrub and the boys are so happy! Not that they didnt have enough cars already. You all know I am a avid user of freecycle, this is a prime example of how freecycle should be used. This tractor was destined to end up in a landfill. Why? when there is still life in it and plenty of years of fun to be had. Anyway we have it, Harvey is chuffed to bits as will Caiden when he is bigger. So we had fun pushing the boys around. It was Caidens first time out on the car and he loved it. You can see this from his smile. I found it hard to get a nice photo of Harvey, he was zooming about so quickly!

Georgous Boy!

Oh how I love my boys, I may be soooo tired its untrue, have grey hairs that werent there before and wrinkles and stress BUT I wouldnt change them for the world.
I showed you Caiden last week, or chocolate monster as he is now known, I just wanted to share this lovely picture of Harvey, what a totally adorable smile!! BTW it was his sponsored bounce today, one minute on a trampoline and they had to do as many as they could. He did 37, bless him, he said he kept falling over!

I make the best toast in America!!

Tee Hee, just had to share that gem with you. After giving Harvey his toast this morning he piped up that I "make the best toast in America". Pritty funny since we live in England.... Hmmm maybe I have been talking about all my American buddies too much!
