Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C371

This February is Tammy's turn to choose the challenges and she said

"Today my baby girl turns 20! Oh my, where has the time gone? In addition to turning 20, Kelsey will also be graduating from Vet Tech school later this month, and we're so proud of her! In honor of Kelsey today, please create a card with animals in your design."

Here is my card for the challenge and this card was made just for fun, with no-one in mind and I was just grabbing lots of different things close by and generally just having some fun.

Here is what I used :

Foxes from Hobby Art set
Grass Border is Marianne from Crafts U Love
Trees, Hello and Banner from Sizzix Sets
Karen Burniston Lorna Label Pop It ups
Flowers Card-io

Sorry the photo is dark, its hard to take a picture at night time.

You can see all the other Crazies cards on the link TOP LEFT of my blog :)

I hope you like this card today.  Stay safe, storm Doris is blowing in tonight.  I was in my Crafty Palace earlier and the wind nearly took the door off!!  Its scary out there so I came in, sounds much safer in here that out in the wind with some giant leylandii swaying around me.  Eeek!!

Welcoming Baby Billy

As you remember my Niece Leanne and her husband Tom were expecting their first baby, I went to her baby shower a while ago.  Baby William (Billy) came into the world 1 week and 1 day ago.  I have not met him yet as I am letting the visiting calm down a little for Leanne before I pop on over and meet him but his Great Grandparents took my card yesterday so I can share that with you.

I was really pleased how this turned out.  I used some new Special Order Sizzix dies and the Mini Alphabet Punch Board.

Fold-a-long dies

You may of seen the new Jennifer Long "Fox Tales" fold-a-long dies featuring an adorable Fox and owl shaped  card.  I love anything a bit different and  of course I had to have these.  However I didn't  realise that there was a whole selection  of these. Mainly because they appear mostly to be restricted to UK via  wholesale distributors 😢.

I did manage to get this die in the post and last night made a quick card.

The cute bee inside is from Taylored  Expressions and I stamped it with Tim Holtz Scattered Straw to give it a "no lines" look.

Fox and Owl currently out of stock at www.craftsulove.co.uk  but will be back in stock soon.

I purchased  this one from www.scrapbook.com in USA since not available in the uk.

Pimp my Big Shot Plus

We got the Big Shot Plus in stock at Crafts U Love and I brought mine home yesterday.  Gorgeous A4 design and a pleasing to the eye Grey and White colour scheme.... However I am far from a Grey and White person and I knew even before I got it that I would "Pimp up" my machine.

I decided to go for the Starter kit, it had a nice selection of dies that I felt weren't too similar to what I had already.  And armed with a selection of vinyl I used the starter kit dies to decorate my Plus... I am going to have to think of a name for her... I cant just keep calling her Big Shot Plus.. not sure how she feels being a "Plus model" LOL  much like her owner!! :)

So here is the first photo of her.... I used butterflies, flowers and leaves from the Starter kit.

I posted the picture on my Facebook page and everyone was really kind saying they liked it but there were a few that said  "Where are the owls"?

So back to the drawing board and a couple of additions, namely Poppy the owl from Karen Burniston and my Plus size friend is finished!!

I hope you have been inspired to maybe "Pimp up" your plus sized Sizzix machine :)

Poppy the Owl and the Sizzix Starter Plus Starter kit (or machine on its own)
are both in stock at Crafts U Love.

Simples

I've made a couple of really simple cards lately too... here are two of them.

This one was made using the Sizzix Debi Potter Fox  HERE
I used a circle punch and small star punch to make a mask
and used a silver metallic cream to made the moon and stars "pop" out from the nights sky.

Here is a little card I made with the Skull and Crossbuns bunting stamp
and the Lawn Fawn Owl stamps and the little rose was a freebie.

Woodland Frame

I've had great fun the last few days making a fun and decorative Woodland Frame.  I'm not really sue what I will do with it.  I love it too much to give it away so I will have to put it up in my shed (somewhere - my Mum asked if I actually had space for it)

I had brought some polystyrene rings for another project last year and I used
that as a base.

I used the NEW Marianne Designs Hedgehog, Sizzix Debi Potter Owl and Fox head (I added the body)  For the leaves I used the Stampendous stamps - there are matching dies to making cutting much easier.

All from Crafts U Love - www.craftsulove.co.uk

Here is the inside of the card - you can see the spiral inside and the pretty flowers cascading
out from the inside :)

A New Home Card - Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Designs Dies

Hello Crafty Friends,
Its been a busy week with not much crafting,  but here I am with a card that I have been working on, on and off for the past week!  It's taken me that long!! LOL

My work friend was moving into her new home this past weekend and I had to make her a card.

Here is the front, very understated and not and hint of what may be inside.

I have used one of the decorator dies from the KATIE LABEL PIVOT DIE
and a sentiment I have had for a long time.

For the inside I really went to town with lots of different Elizabeth Dies.
The Tree and clouds were made using the All season Tree
The bunting was from Lots of Pops set
The grass was from the Garden Bench
I also used the Agatha Edges die to shape the ends of the card
and the house was one of Karen's older Sizzix Dies Thinlets HOUSE set ** Low stock and almost sold out everywhere!

All items can be purchased in the UK from Crafts U Love
The Elizabeth Dies are on pre order at the moment but are winging there
way to Crafts U Love as I type this.  So will be in stock next week!

Right, had better get back to my lunch break, no peace for the wicked.

Caz xx

My first cards of 2014

I really am going to try to blog more and share more cards with you.  It looks like I made almost no cards last year but in truth I made a lot more but it seems easier to just pop them on my facebook account and it takes time to save and share on here but I am going to try and do that.
So in a start on trying to share more here are a few cards I have made lately.

This Penny Black card was made for Crafts U Love for their weekly Create and Take.  Now at work we are mega mega busy and didn't have time to make a card at work so I said I would make it this week but it had to be sometime I could make easy and in my style so of course I had to use Penny Black.  You can get full details of what I used on their blog.  www.craftsulove.blogspot.co.uk

Here I have used the same kitty on a bag that I made using the
We R Memory Keeper Gift Bag Punch Board

Next are a couple of Accordion cards that I made for birthdays, The first up is
the card I made for my niece Danielle who was 19.

I used the Cottage Cutz Mr Snuggle bear for the main image.
I love this bear as his arms are separate so you can post him holding
anything

Another accordion card, this one is for one
of my boys friends birthdays.

On this one the main images are from http://www.purpleoniondesigns.com/

The amazing accordion die is from Karen Burniston
This one is from her Sizzix line.  She has 3 more amazing accordion
designs coming out in a couple short weeks.  Crafts U Love will be
putting pre orders on their website soon for any pre orders.

That's all I have to share right now.  I am eagerly waiting my Designer Challenge
dies so I can get playing with the Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Craft Designs and I can't wait to share with you all what I make :)

December Designer Challenge for Karen Burniston

I can't believe its that time again, only seems the other day I did the November challenge!

I admit to being a little over whelmed with all crafting I have had these past couple of weeks.  A school fair table where I sold Snowman Soup, Reindeer Poop and other bits and bobs.  All made in the few hours between kids bedtime and my own over the few weeks previous.  Brownies craft  where I had a lovely time making the Sizzix House with approx 25 Brownies!and also preparing Beaver crafts where this Wednesday I will be making lolly pop stick snowmen for them to decorate and hand on their trees.  I still have orders for Snowman soup/Reindeer Poop and a sheep for the beavers church service this Sunday.  I am getting there and hope to soon start on my Christmas cards!  yes I did say start.. not one made yet.

Anyway back to the job on hand.  This month Karen was really kind and opened up the anything goes theme.  Trying to showcase the vast array of Pop N Cuts that Karen has designed we were able to choose different designs.  I picked the LOVE insert and there were many ways I could have gone with the love. Valentines, baby, friend or anything or anyone you care about.  But seeing that we are all in the throes of Christmas Madness I would share some "Christmas Love".

I hope you can see the LOVE in the middle of the card as it seems to be
a bit dark in the photo.  The Love insert can be brought HERE if you are in the UK
I used the Penny Black "Fairy Wishes" stamp and a Woodware
punch to create the look that the fairy is standing in a Holly Wreath
and spreading her "Christmas Love" everywhere.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at this card.  I enjoyed making it as I have every card I have
made with the amazingly talented designer friends Karen Burniston has on board.
If you are on facebook please make sure to like Karen's Designer page to hear all
about what is happening with her and her die designs old and new.

November Designer Challenge - Karen Burniston

This months Designer Challenge was a bit of a squeeze.  Long time readers will remember that I do a school table every Christmas and I have been madly making reindeer poop, snowman soup  at every moment I could get.  So today's "day off" goal was to get at least one card made for Karen's November Challenge.  This month the Designer Challenge (still pinch myself little old me is part of this awesome gang) was to make a card with

Crafting RED with Stitched Framelits

Thrilled I managed two cards this morning, had a fun time with making cards
and watching one of my favourite films "legends of the fall"  Some people may like
to listen to music, some silence but I love to put a "me" film on.  One I don't usually
get a chance to watch.  Halfway in I wasn't sure this tearjerker would be good
to watch in fear of it being red with tear drops but I had my sleeve on hand to wipe those drops away (and believe me there were many)

This card above was made using the Labels and Stitched Frames
and some very old Stampendous Stamps that fitted inside the
frames just lovely.  I love the stitching look it gives.
The snowflake was again a very old punch and the wording was
a cute little wording from Purple Onion Designs.
A lovely piece of bright red backing paper made sure it fitted both
RED and FRAMES

This cute card is actually a 8 x 8 card - the image is
I love how the little Caroling snowmen fitted inside the largest
of the Sassy Labels  this is a unique shape and I thought it
looked kind of like a bow when placed on the centre of the card like this.
and the Noel is a Karen Burniston die from one of her decorator sets

All in all a good morning and now for a few hours of housework before I need to collect the boys.

Thanks for stopping by. xx

Karen Burniston - October challenge part 2

Here is the second offering for the October challenge - I had hope maybe one more today but not feeling the best today so this will have to do.

Once again I have used the Sassy Pop N Cuts and couple of decorator dies too.  I cheated a bit and teamed it up with a Stampendous Snowman that I happened to have already cut and coloured :)

This jolly fella looks like he is just plonked in the middle of the card, with the
pop n cut cut in the clear material you cant see how he is attached.

Here is what I used :  Crafts U Love

Karen Burniston Sizzix - Pop n Cuts Sassy 3d

Karen Burniston Sizzix - Banners and Borders

Hoping you enjoyed my two cards.  xx

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - October - Clear Creations

Hi Bloggers

This month playing along with the Karen Burniston Designer challenge and the brief was "Clear Creations aka Defying Gravity"  that is any card creations using the ever growing collection
of dies from Karen and using a clear materials to look as those something is just "there" and not
actually on something.  I have made two pop and cuts designs both using the New Sassy Pop n
Cut and some stamps too.

I will share one today and one tomorrow. :)

Today's offering was made as I said using the Sassy Shape Pop n Cut which I cut from the
packaging from some other Sizzix dies, I never throw this stuff away, its handy for cards like this.
This plastic is strong so you do need to crease on the crease lines very firmly and it will need
a bit of a squidge down but I must say using this stuff means that the card sits lovely open and
would be nice to display.  I used the clear material to cut the pop and cuts base to sit the bee
hive on and I also suspended the buzzy bees on some clear strips to look like they are flying!

Those eagle eyed Karen Burniston fans will notice that I have used
two other dies from her collection.  I will link all the materials I used to my
favourite UK Pop N Cuts Supplier Crafts U Love

 and from Sizzix
Label Trellis
The stamps are an old Stampin Up! set from my stamping stash.

What a fun card!

Little houses

This weekend me and the boys have been playing with the sizzix house die from Brenda Walton. Harvey's is the yellow one, Caiden's the pink and mine the blue.

In the garden

My next card for the Pop N Cuts is one looking outside with the garden chair.  I was inspired to cut into my chair by a card I saw on Pinterest by Calla Lily Studio  her card is beautiful.  I didn't have the same dies as her to create my chair so I looked at all my other dies to find the perfect chair and managed to find a basket to use.

Lots and lots of other dies later I created this little scene.

I always struggle to get the photos right on these cards but I think you can see everything on it
(everyfink if you are SuzieQ) Remember if you are in the UK you can get your dies from www.craftsulove.co.uk  Tell them Caz sent ya!

Pop n Cuts snippets

I have some more pop n cuts cards to show off next week. But for now here are a couple of little snippets.

Tuesday, July 30

Eileen Hull - Sizzix Fun!

Not wanting to give Karen Burniston all the Sizzix love I thought I would show you my newest die, the lovely window box from Eileen Hull.  This little window and box has so many possibilities!  I like to think that whatever you could see out of the window you could create a little scene in the window box.  So I am thinking Christmas scenes, summer scenes... you're only restricted by your imagination.

So this little window box depicts everything me!  Bright happy colours and a little birdie too.  Of course and owl would have been preferable but maybe next time ;)  I had great fun working with inks, stamps, paints, embossing powders and all sorts.

What would you put on yours?

Pop N Cuts - Tropical Kitty

Washed up on a beach of buttons this tropical mix card is
sure to make someone smile :)

Once again I used the Karen Burniston/Sizzix  Pop N cuts 3D Suitcase to create
the pop up in this card.  I used it with the NEW A2 Horizontal card base

I used a selection of other stamps and dies to decorate
Imaginisce Crab
Sparkley Queen & Co Gooseybump
Marianne Flower and Leaf and also Marianne Decorated Circle (part used)

Saturday, June 1

Pop n Cuts - Coffee Break

Today's card was made using the Karen Burniston / Sizzix Pop n Cuts
die called 3D Mug and Heart.
I got mine from Crafts U Love (of course)
I also used the NEW XL Horizontal A2 Card base die with Square Decorated Edge
and the the new Coffee Textured Impressions embossing folder and a
collection of my very old but treasured House Mouse stamps.

So if you've got to make a coffee date why not make the perfect "lets do coffee" card
sure to impress!  This of course can be made into a "lets do tea" card too as it is a
very generic mug.

Karen Burniston Pop n Cuts - Chair

Karen Burniston has another release of Pop n Cuts dies with Sizzix and I could not wait to get
hold of them, its been a long long time since seeing them.  Crafts U Love have them in stock :)

Here is my second "chair" card, the first one I cant share yet :) as it may be for someone specials birthday coming up soon.

Planning these little room scenes makes you look at your stash in another way! trying to work
out if I have all the props I need.  On this card I used one of the Brand New Penny Black
stamps.  This little dog is in fact a dog bouncing a football on his nose, but I at once recognised
that pose as one of a sleeping dog since my Milo sleeps like that all the time.

The floor was stamped with the Hero Arts Stamp, the rug and table are part of an embossing folder
set by Sizzix.  The Newspaper is an old Stampendous Stamp, as is the little bone propped up on the chair leg.  The dog in the frame was made using some Imaginesce paper and the shape was made using a Stampin' Up! punch and a square punch.  The vase was made using the same embossing folder set as the table and rug and by Sizzix, this is actually a lamp but I just cut it down and added some Joy! foliage.

I hope you have enjoyed looking and I will be back soon with another card.
