Paper Pros July Challenge - 30 minute makes

Hi Friends

I am here today with the Paper Pros challenge for July and this time it was my turn to pick a theme and chose "30 minute makes".  Now I am not going to lie, this set some of the ladies in a spin, no way they said.  But lets face it, we can all make fandabbydosey cards with Karens die sets.  But can we strip it back a level and make relatively quick cards?  By ommitting some of the die cutting, and just using the Pivot hearts and decorating with stamps I managed to make a pop up card in a much shorter time, but still packs a WOW when you open it with the pop out hearts.  You should give it a try one day.

Here you can see the inside and the way I very simply decorated the hearts.  With the central piece flat I popped a piece of scrap card behind so I could edge the hearts without catching the back of the card.  I also left the scrap in place whilst I stamped the flowers onto the hearts.

r

The front was simply stamped with white embossing on Kraft and coloured with pencils.

Here is a bit closer of inside.

Here I will list the items used  below :)

Karen Burniston Heart Pivot Panels

Here are the other ladies cards

I am so pleased to still be regularly playing along with these talented ladies.  Please do check their blogs regularly as they are all on the Karen Burniston Design Team and make the most amazing cards.

Paper Pro's Challenge - Inspired by Karen

Can you believe another month has passed and I am here with another Paper Pros challenge.

This month Frances chose  "Inspired by Karen Burniston."
Each month Karen shares at least one video showing us how to use a die set in a different way than what it was intended. Here’s your chance this month to create a card using one of those cards you have been meaning to create using her videos as inspiration. I love the idea of using the 3 tier cake as a base for any items as Karen has showed HERE>

I always try to make my cards usable, by that I mean who do I next need a card for? Well that one was easy at it is Caidens 13th Birthday on 15th June. Yes my Baby Boy is a teenager soon, that is a scary thought. Scarier still... Harvey leaves school Friday!GULP Anyway, back to the card. I was not sure what to make Caiden, he isn't into much but gaming but I did buy this cute Chamelion Stamp by Pink Ink Designs from Crafts U Love.

This is the front of the card and I went to town with my Distress Oxides to colour in the main image.

And here is the inside where I have used the lower layer of the cake as a platform to hold this cute little Chameleon complete with his party hat! and the all important numbers! At this age you never forget the numbers! I also used from Karen Burniston Ovals Crosshatch Happy Birthday Cake Pop Up www.craftsulove.co.uk/die-cutting/karen-burniston/pre-order-karen-burniston-cake-pop-up-die-set.html You'll have to check out my friends on Karens Fabulous Design Team to see who has decided to play this month. They are all very busy with the new release dies that us mere mortals will get to see 24th June - I cant wait!! Also I know Crafts U Love will be putting these on Pre Order as soon as they are allowed.

March Paper Pros challenge - Spring

Another month flown by and this month we have a lovely "Spring" challenge.  And I had my first play with the Oval Frames Pop Up.

This die set is a real show stopper.  Folds flat and wow look at the dimension inside!

its also remarkably easy to assemble!  Don't believe me, check out
Karen's assembly video

I used the Garden Charms die set to decorate the 2 outer ovals.  I placed
the tulip inside the flower pot and added the watering can to the other side.
These charm sets work so well for decorating with themes and you simply chop
the ring part off if using as a decoration as opposed to a hanging charm.

Happy Spring is the wording and I used Picked Raspberry to colour my white cut out.

And I used the New Penny Black stamp set called Critter Celebrations.  These
adorable mice just HAD to come home with me yesterday!

Please check out my pals on the Paper Pros team - we are a bunch of friends
who "met" through our love for Karen Burniston Products.  This is a relaxed
monthly challenge so not everyone will take place every month and others like me skid in by the seat of my pants right on deadline!!

January Paper Pros Challenge - Love

Happy New Year!  Can you believe another year gone in a flash and its the Paper Pros challenge today.  This months theme was chosen by me and its "Love".

Today I took the chance to be ultra organised and make this anniversary card, not needed until April!

I chose the Karen Burniston Explosion card for my mechanism. I love how the
sides open up to create a fabulous setting for any types of decoration. You can go to town decorating the sides or like I have I chose I busy paper which brings dimension and colour and frames the pop up perfectly to create a little "Stage" for my cute animals.

Where items are in stock I have tagged Crafts U Love.
If they are out of stock it might be possible to do a special order for them. You will have to give Crafts U Love a ring to find out.

Other items Used :

You can see what the other "Paper Pros" created for this challenge on their blogs, as this is a relaxed challenge some might not have joined in this month but check out their blogs anyway as they are a talented bunch.

Also check out the Karen Burniston pages very soon.  Apparently she has new designs in the pipeline that I am very excited to see.

I hope to run more Karen Burniston Classes at Crafts U Love this year, so hope to see you come along to one of those.

November Paper Pro's challenge

Its November?  Already? Wow these months fly.

I am here with my November card and this month the theme is Holiday/Christmas

There are so many designs to choose from in the KB Riley collection, so first task was to choose what dies.

My keyboard is really playing up today, so I will keep this post short. As when I type it either ignores what I type or adds 10 extra characters!

I had fun creating background with distress Oxide ink pads.  Then I chose the

You can get Karen Burniston dies from www.karenburnitston.com
or www.craftsulove.co.uk in the UK

I love this die set!  and it folds flat too.

Please check out the other Paper Pros for their inspirational cards.  Not all
are taking part today but their blogs worth a look anyway.

Paper Pros Challenge - Sept - Seeing Spots

Hi Friends,
Its the Paper Pros challenge today and I picked the theme  "seeing spots", making it quite an open challenge for people to make what they want, with what they want (including of course some Karen Burniston) but just add spots to it.

I decided to play with one of my newest Julie Hickey Design stamps and it is called "Garden Treasures".  I create a whimsical background of yellows and oranges with distress oxide ink pads and then added white pigment to create circles gently in the background and giving a "bokah" effect, where dots of light diffuse the colour.  The bee was from the "Beautiful Blooms" set.  This little bee is a firm favourite.

Inside is simple but effective, with the arm on the Spinner Square die set spinning down the sentiment on the arm.

Took advantage of my lovely plant outside to hold my card open.  This flower has the most amazing scent!

The Karen Burniston die can be purchased from the UK at This Link

Such a great die set as you can really make anything spin down behind and decorate the card however you want, with stamps, dies, toppers and whatever you like.  Such a versatile set.

Crafts U Love have a new drop down when you order, if you have been inspired to order because of anything I have posted please choose the option DESIGN TEAM.  Not strictly Design Team but closest I suppose :) Thank you xx

Floral Upsy Daisy

I was asked to make a card and was not sure what to use.  Would I choose the New Julie Hickey Designs from Crafts U Love?  Or would I choose the Karen Burniston die set? Then it dawned on me that I didn't have to choose which to use and I would simply use both!  The dies work effortlessly with the stamps to create and card that not only has the beauty of the stamps, but the sure genius of Karen Burniston's paper engineering. :)

I love nothing more than to colour,  and I coloured these gorgeous designs using the
Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a waterbrush.  I used the FABULOUSLY FLORAL stamp set
on Pre Order at Crafts U Love.   I also used the wording from the Essential Sentiments Happy Birthday set.  I decided I wanted my words separately so I snipped them apart with scissors a bit scary but I can choose to stamp them together in one line now or in two.

The image was stamped on the Karen Burniston Crosshatch Rectangles.
Such a fabulous go to die set.

For the inside I used the flower from the Happy Birthday Essential Set and masked it with a post it note to use other flowers together to form little bunches.
Other flowers used were from the Heartfelt Wishes   & Essential Sentiments Thank you set.

Of course the inside has all the WOW that  Karen Burniston die set can inject into a card and I used the Upsy Daisy die set.   IN STOCK AT CRAFTS U LOVE.

There are many ways to use and decorate the Upsy Daisy.
Check out Karen Burniston's blog   for more ideas where her amazing Design Team and herself work their magic.

I hope you like this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Until next time!

Paper Pros challenge - August - Anything goes

Its the Paper Pros challenge today and my card today did double bubble and was my card for a work colleague Charlotte who's birthday was yesterday.  Charlotte loves all things girly, unicorn, Disney and Princesses so I thought I would go with a card fit for a princess by using the Circle Charm Pop up die set.

I used some beautiful Bo Bunny papers from the Early Bird Collection.

I kept the inside really simple and just let the pretty Princess take centre stage.
I used a piece of acetate to sandwich between the centre piece to hold the heart.
There are various ways you can suspend things inside and indeed various ways to use this set  so check out all the ideas over on Karen Burniston's Blog and Facebook page.

Pretty Princess. added lots of glitter glue to her.

You can purchase all the dies I have used from
Crafts U Love where they are IN STOCK along with lots of others

**IMPORTANT DESIGN TEAM NEEDED**

Karen wants to add 2 more people to her Design Team.
I had pondered re-applying but I don't really think I am worthy a place
due to my recent lack of blogging so I am leaving it to you to apply and
take part in this fabulous Design Team.  Being part of the KB team really was the cherry on top of my crafting highs and I will never forget it.

Check out the other Paper Pros blogs to see what they have been up tolately and their Paper Pro's cards.

Paper Pros Challenge June - Food & Drink

Another month has flown by and here we are in June! and the Paper Pros challenge.  This months challenge is food & drink and we could use either/or/both.  I have chosen to use both with this tea & cake card.

My first play with the Upsy Daisy die set and WOW I am totally in love.
This die set gives the recipient a huge surprise when they open the card.  I've seen Karen Burnistons video where she adds a glue dot to the centre square, Karen A has made an amazing"one arm" pop up and well, just generally the Design Team has just knocked me out of the park with this die set.  make sure you check out each of their blogs.

Back to the theme today.. Food and Drink and I chose to use the cup from the Coffee charms set, also the donut from the sweets treats set.  Nothing washes a cake down like a good cup of tea :)  And the cute critters had to come to the party.  I used the Fox and hedgehog from previous releases.

Also you can book the Upsy Daisy class with me at

https://www.craftsulove.co.uk/classes/hopeful-for-spring-card-class-by-stamping-caz-24596.html

just £20 for a two hour class where you will make a beautiful card.  Theme to be decided. I would love to see you there.

Fox & Hedgehog are two different sets, currently out of stock but
please do contact the office at Crafts U Love at

customerservices@craftsulove.co.uk

if you want to order them.

Check out the rest of the paper pros cards - if any others join in I will add links later
