Bee Happy Card

I got back from Butlin's yesterday, a weekend away with my Mum and the boys, it was lovely we had such a fun time and the weather was gorgeous.

When I got home and whilst the washing machine was going  I got my Julie Hickey Designs stamps out and had a little play.  It was nice just to make a card for no reason, other than the enjoyment.  I adore this little bee stamp and the little squiggle reminds me of a little "buzz" :)   The flowers from the Essential set Happy Birthday is my favourite too.

I don't know if you have seen the Julie Hickey Designs but they are fab! and lucky for me they are being distributed by Crafts U Love.

I chose the Essential Sentiments Happy Birthday set and
the Beautiful Blooms set.  IN STOCK! Click the link above to take you
to the page where you can see all the designs available.

65 Today... sharing a card

I made this card some weeks (months) ago and I kept meaning to share but lack of time means that I didnt get round to it.  I was asked to make this for a friends Husband, 65 and loves his workshop where he builds things.  Amazing things BTW!

Luckily my Mum had some power tool paper and I had a birthday cake from the Cake Pop it ups! from Karen Burniston, crafted from wood paper, complete with silver screw head decoration some industrial size staples and a shiny silver 65 to finish!

It was a puzzle to decide what to make but I was very pleased on how it turned out.

Penny Black Hedgehogs

I made this card last night just for fun!  I used the new Penny Black hedgehogs.  Available from www.craftsulove.co.uk

As well as the Penny Black design you may recognise the Hero Arts Newsprint stamp
and the grass that is behind the hedgehogs is the stem parts from the Hero Arts tulips stamp.
The border along the bottom is Memory Box Charlotte Border and the clouds are memory box too

Thing 1 and Thing 2

Otherwise known as my Boys Harvey and Caiden dressed up yesterday (Thursday) as Thing1 and Thing2 from The Cat in the Hat for World book day.  Here they are dressed up and ready to go to school.  Those eagle eyed amongst you will spot Harvey wearing a little extra than his brother.

Yep, my gorgeous Thing1 Harvey was 9 on Thursday!  How the heck did that happen?
Here is his rather naughty cake.   Harvey is this year massively into Moshi Monsters so
most of his presents from me were Moshi related.

Here is the card I made him using Boofle designs from Crafts U Love

I did made Harvey a Moshi Monsters bunting but didn't get a good photo so I will sort
that out this weekend and post it.  Tomorrow we have 4 friends from school going bowling
and pizza hut.  We kept it small with the plan that we were able to fit them all in our car
but my cars gearbox had other ideas!  Its a shame as we could of in hindsite asked a few more!

Have a lovely weekend

Happy Birthday Suzie Q

It was my good friend Suzie Q's birthday the other week whilst she was on holiday.  I made her this card for her return.  As you can see I have been enjoying my Marianne Fence!

This is a very old Penny Black stamp.  Suzie loves the Penny Black mice stamps so I had to use one of these for her.

Penny Black has to be my all time favourite stamp companies ever!

A little bit of creating

Not alot!  Its been a hectic start to the year with work being sooooo very busy (which is fab) I have been working lots of days extra for extra pennies.  A small bit of creating but with just the Sunday off this weekend I just wanted to chill out with the kids and hubby and catch up on washing ect

I have made these things recently though

I made this Penny Black card the other day, just because, not made for anyone.
Using one of the new Mimi stamps from Crafts U Love

This very quick (read  rubbishy) card for one of Caidens friends
I wasnt in the mood that evening, sadly it was the evening before the
party so it had to do.

I also made this Lego Batman Bunting for the
friends gift.  Afraid in January the gift has to be hand made
as we are soooooo broke.

Was it a good one?

I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas?  We had a great one.  Kids enjoyed it.  Lovely Christmas dinner here with Darren, Kids, Mum and b-i-l Robert.  In the afternoon as we all sat and almost fell asleep I got the Kinnect Raving Rabbids out and we got silly and played those games :)

I have a couple of creations to show you.

Here is the card I made for most people who got a made card.  I am not the best at
Christmas cards so some do get shop cards.  I used the Stampin' Up! Polar Party set.

Here is a card I made for Riley who was one on Christmas Day,  he is my cousins little boy.
Hes a real fighter. And went through open heart surgery earlier in December.  Sadly wont
be the last operation he has to have but he has done amazing to pull through so well.

Here is the card I made my Mum.  I wanted it to be different from the others.
I used a Toodles & Binks design.

I am enjoying massively the time off this week as I don't go back to work until the new
year.  Darren is off too so we have the time with the boys :)  I love family time.  We don't get enough of it
seeing that Darren works M-F and I work Saturdays.  Still maybe this year that will change.

Well I suppose the next time I check in here will be 2012.  Have a great New Years Eve xx

Happy Birthday Brother In Law

Its my brother in law Roberts birthday today, he joins the 40's club

I took a break from bunting and made this for him.  This is a very old stamp made by Stamps by Judith

Thought I'd forgotten how to make cards!! Its been bunting bunting everywhere!  I have a new order for 6 more too!  I have now closed my order books for Christmas as I want to concentrate on a special Happy Christmas banner for me and so far have managed just "HA".

How are you're Christmas plans coming along?

Crafting for fun!

Well it doesn't happen often but today I crafted just for fun and just for me! It was lovely.  Here is one of the things I made.

I used the adorable Little Elf Present from Penny Black, the very talented Mo Manning designed this stamp and you can get it from Crafts U Love.  I have coloured with my Stampin Up! inkpads.  I forget that there are so many beautiful things to colour with than Copics to be honest with you I think I am better at this style than the copics.

Also made a cute halloween bunting for my front door.  Whilst Harvey and I were watching "Nightmare before Christmas" in my shed this afternoon.  Truly a lovely lazy Sunday.

Enjoy the rest of it.

Woodware Challenge - Its a sketch!

I like the sketches means the challenge theme is open to whatever you want to use.  This week however I have been so busy with "stuff" you know,  life stuff, work, kids, home, family.  It flew in by my knicker elastic! and just made the deadline for this. And if you think my cards are usually SIMPLE boy this one takes the biscuit, but sometimes thats about all that can happen, Life just dictates that.

This cute pair of kitties is called FORBES and FRIENDS and was drawn by the very lovely Jane Gill

The sketch in itself is quiet simple too.  You can see it on the Woodware Challenge blog HERE
Jane has done a beautiful flowery card worth looking at.

Till next time... soon I hope, just hoping all the "stuff" lets me :)

Crafts U Love demo day

Yesterday Crafts U Love launched their new paper room and classroom and we a had a demonstration event to celebrate.  Here are some photos of the cards I made.  Haven't had time to adjust photos so they aren't the best.

Beautiful Hero Art scene stamp - this went down a storm!

I LOVE this Mimi card :)  I cut her off her bauble and added her
to this Marianne star circle die.

Using STAMP AND BOND powder and glitter this
proved a huge hit.

Penny Black Mimi meets Nellie Frame

Another Mimi, a cuttlebug embossing folder and some twine

Another Mimi and another Embossing Folder

I adore this Mimi Image

This Mimi was glittered the same as the Hero image

Can you guess what this box was made from?

And this one?

Here is a side view

And another view..... it was made from the Sizzix Envelope die!

Another cute Mimi

And a Halloween pail

That's all folks!  All materials from Crafts U Love

Congrats Hedgehog

Last night when I made my Good Luck Hedgie card I also stamped and coloured an extra image.  This came in handy when I needed a card for my Niece Kiera.  She was getting an award at her old school today.

Another super simple card .

Penny Black - Mimi

I got a little time yesterday to make a card.  I love this adorable Mimi Image from Penny Black.

I coloured her with Copics.  The lovely sparkle is brought to you by using Stampendous Shaved Ice.  I also used the Martha Stewart Cherish Punch.  All these items can be purchased from where I work.  www.craftsulove.co.uk   We have a demonstration event on Saturday 24th September to celebrate and open the brand new Paper Room and Classroom.  I will be demonstrating Penny Black, Woodware and Hero Arts stamps, would be lovely to see you :)

Yesterdays Create and Take

Yesterdays Create and Take at Crafts U Love was made by me :)  Usually the very talented Suzie Q and Paula Baughan design these cards but with Suzie Q off on her holiday I was asked to have a go.  I do hope the ladies enjoyed my festive patchwork card.

I have used the Woodware Patchwork Dove for this card.  Along with the Woodware Holly, Star and Square punches.  A little bit of paper piecing on the birds wing and body and its done :)

A couple of funny pictures to share.  Myself and friend Karen went to another friends house last
night for girlie chat and Big Brother watching.  Trisha told us we had to come dressed as Jedward
this was the closest we were going to get!! LOL  Harvey modelling this mask for me ;0)

Also yesterday afternoon Harvey and I did a bit of soapmaking with a kit
he got and we made this lovely "Brain and Finger" soap!!

Monday marks the start of a very special Woodware and ????  blog hop!!

Woodware Challenge - take 2 colours

So my initial plan was some sort of tealy blue and brown but then I found out the DT had liked this colour choice too.  I said to Darren what colours should I used and he sang "Black and Yellow" at me.  So here my card was born.  I had already chose the set I was going to use.  This cute little Birdie set from Stampendous.

Different shades of light black (grey) and lots of lovely sunny yellow too
I have made a tri fold card as I wanted to use both the main images and the lovely
sentiment too.

The papers are from the Lost in Paradise 8 x 8 collection
The stamp set is called Blockart Tweet Friends
and in the centre I used on of my fav new tools.  The Wonderful Woodware
Crafty Edger with the Scallop Shell edge.

A simple little happy card :)  Sure to put a smile on the face of the recipient.

On a side note about "Yellow"  just look at the difference in colour of my sons scrambled eggs
the other day!  The light was shop brought eggs and the BRIGHT YELLOW! are eggs from my
next door neighbours chickens.

Have a good day x

Woodware Challenge "Look what I did with my File Folders"

Apologies for posting late.  This challenge was challenging to me, but I came up with a cute card
this has been made for a teacher, but change the main images and the small ones pugged up inside the folders
and it can be for anything.

I had many ideas but they didnt work with the stuff I had to hand.  I figured most would be
doing some sort of book type thing so went for the original idea I had.

Check out the link for Woodware above in my tabs.

Woodware Challenge - Sketch

Here is this weeks Woodware card and I cant believe that I picked the same stamp as Francoise :)  interesting to see how we used this set differently :)

I have used
Stamps : Fairy Tots - Clear Magic FRCL162
Paper Pad : CLOISONNE - 8 X 8 COLLECTION
Glitter Glue, Small Daisy Punch, Pink Nailheads

As you can see I have paper pieced the main image with the same papers

I hope you have managed to keep an eye out on the Woodware blog to
see the talents of my fellow DT members

eeeeewwwwwwwwwwmmmmmm

I was trying to recreate the sound made by a small plane but its really hard to spell!! LOL

Simple little card made for the Rocket and Fairydust shop as my cards have been selling quiet well there so more are needed.  Seeing that Wednesday is my late night working I had little time to get much else done card wise.

Off to watch Harry Potter today after work, then off to TGI's for tea :)

A card for Ben

Ben is one of Harvey's friends and he is 8.  Harvey is going for a sleepover there tonight.  In training for his sleepover he slept downstairs last night!

I have used this adorable image from Digi Stamp Boutique.  The ticket image is from them too.  The paper is really old Bo Bunny.  The bunting is from Skull and Crossbuns and its hand carved!

We've had a few nice days off so far.  Kids are going to a kids club that my mum is helping at most of this week.  I am working today and tomorrow but took a day off yesterday with them.  Weather has been kind and dried up and warmed up a bit.

Here are the boys eating their picnics at a local play park yesterday.

Enjoy your summer!
