and no, its not spelt incorrectly, i do mean bin!
caiden is sitting on me so i am typing one handed with no caps, so please excuse.
I got this waste paper bin from a 99p shop at the weekend, thought it would be cute on my desk.. so of course I had to alter it and I wanted to use the cutie pie Magnolia stamp that I got from last weeks stash delivery. I coloured this in with my Stampin' Up! watercolour wonder crayons, they really are lovely to use.
I still havent caved in to buy the copics, its such a lot of money I think I would rather buy myself complete range of Prismacolour Pencils... hmm watch this space.. Also I want one of those nifty "Flip" cameras... so if any of my stamping buddies accross the pond can help me get a good price please let me know... they are very expensive over here.
Catch ya later!
Update on boys, Caiden is fine. Harvey has a viral rash (rosella know its not spelt right) or least that is what the doctor said. He also has had a visit from those pesky little hair creatures! I cant believe I am telling you all that, but I believe that 99% of mums will know that EVERYONE seems to get these as kids, so any hints on successful elimination would be great. I am walking about with frizzy hair from combing my natural curly and thick hair with one of those stupid small combs... oh the joy eh?

Glad the children are okay (& you) - well apart from the pesky little creatures. Only really effective way I've found of getting rid of them (and this takes persistence, but leaves you with lovely soft hair), is to wash the hair daily with tea tree shampoo, then condition with tea tree conditioner & whilst the conditioner is in comb through with 'special' comb until you can't see any more of them, then rinse the hair. This will take about 10 days to get rid of them completely, but if you keep using tea tree shampoo after this, they are less likely to return, apparently they don't like the smell? The other great thing about this is you don't have those awful chemicals about the place, just lovely soft hair!
I love the bin! Only just getting into altering stuff myself, but it does open up a whole new world of crafting possibilities & means I'm throwing even less stuff out (not sure whether that's a good or bad thing!)
Lol oh dear, not nice!!! lol
Okay, lots and lots and lots of conditioner, along with a white nit comb and hey presto, just keep conditioning all your hair every day, now I did my girls (cause they have hair down their backs!!!) every morning and night to be on the safe side cause I am one of those paranoid mothers, lol and after a few days you should be rid of the little buggers!!!! Keep up with the conditioning for another week, obviously not every morning and night but every other night will do, I don't use any other forms of shampoo, ie the special variety, cause not only do they cost a fortune, conditioner works just as well, cause the nits can't cling on with the condition and the nit comb going through the hair, but you will need a few of the white plastic nit combs, they come with two different widths, they are the best - good luck xx
Oh yuk, nits, when my daughter had them I didn't know for quite a while, only when I asked a friend what are those black bits on her hair she said NITS. Now I wash the girls hair in Tree Tea Shampoo and Conditioner haven't had reoccurence yet.
Like the bin by the way.
Anita
Love the bin - great idea!
As the others say - tea tree oil is fab.... use the shampoo on my son and it works fab - touch wood - also they dont like shorter hair - if you can grade 4 or less for boys andthey tend not to get them....
love the bin ..really cute! and yes, the conditioner method really is the best to avoid the chemicals.I remember this age group well and having to sit and do this myself ..
Hi Caz,
I had loads of trouble with those little creatures when my daughter was in primary school and I was told by the tricologist that I was under for alopecia at the time that Vitamin B was the best thing to have once you get rid of them just take one tablet daily and guess what she has never had any visitors since. HTH
Love Pam xx
Good to see u back Caz,missed u lots!!!
I have to agree with the other 2 ladies on the conditioner & white comb.My 2 are 18 & 21 now,so long time since we had this malarky!!!!
I too have naturally curly hair & was very long at the time,so u can imagine!!!!
Good luck & get rid of em soon! :o)x
love the card.. love the bin...
*visitors* have always been treated in my house with tea tree...I used the shampoo and conditioner.. a good comb through to try and get rid of them, then rinse the conditioner out.. On top of this, if you go to the Body Shop, you can buy tea tree concentrate.. just put a couple of drops on the scalp and touch wood, they'll be gone... I've been doing this now for a few years, and just the shampoo and conditioner on it's own is doing fine.
love Jo ...and good luck!
Love that trash bin, very creative!
Awww ya poor things you...
well Caz you never cease to amaze me with what you alter, it's the cutest poshest bin I have ever seen, me wants one....#
Mmmmm I wonder if I make my winnie one will see now put her rubbish in the bin instead of leaving it for me to dispose of...lol
If it isn't one thing, it's ten! That's what my father-in-law says. I've been lucky so far (knock on wood) as far as those little creepy crawlies are concerned.
That bin is so cool! I would have never thought to do that!
What a great idea, never has a bin looked so pretty!
Great bin Caz, what will you alter next?! I put a few neat drops of tea tree oil in my childrens hair every morning before school & touchwood they have never had the little pesky bugs! HTH xx
I love the "bin" (took me a few seconds to figure that one out...lol). The music you have goes very nice with the image on the bin, don't know why, listening to the music made me think of wind blowing on a Spring or Fall day.
Pesky little creatures have visited many families, I will keep tea tree oil in mind if/when grandkids get little creatures at school.
