Paper Pros challenge October - Holiday Cards

Hi Friends
Its an early Paper Pros this month as the date next week clashed with something else for most of the other ladies, I admit it caught me out as I have been flat out with cards for the launch of Julie Hickey Designs Christmas collection on Hochanda and then the Crafts U Love Birthday event.  Been making cards like a woman possessed!  Therefore today snuck up on me, and I have to admit to using one of my samples from the Birthday Event for today's post.  That is fine though as it fits the bill perfectly.

Today's card is in the Christmas theme and I used one of my favourites in the New Karen Burniston range IN STOCK AT CRAFTS U LOVE.  The Frame Pull Pop up.  Which has been decorated using the Woodware Mousy Christmas stamp.

This fantastic die can be decorated with dies, toppers and stamps and this
is the image that I used on the top.  I took the design and cut it into several separate mice and used this one on the front.

The inside when you pull the "Pull tab" is perfect to nestle this
cute cuddling couple and a cute little message.
** sorry about the messy photo for this "open" one.

The Karen Burniston dies can be purchased from
Crafts U Love in the UK who ship worldwide or alternatively from
Karen Burniston.com in the USA.

Paper Pros Challenge - Sept - Seeing Spots

Hi Friends,
Its the Paper Pros challenge today and I picked the theme  "seeing spots", making it quite an open challenge for people to make what they want, with what they want (including of course some Karen Burniston) but just add spots to it.

I decided to play with one of my newest Julie Hickey Design stamps and it is called "Garden Treasures".  I create a whimsical background of yellows and oranges with distress oxide ink pads and then added white pigment to create circles gently in the background and giving a "bokah" effect, where dots of light diffuse the colour.  The bee was from the "Beautiful Blooms" set.  This little bee is a firm favourite.

Inside is simple but effective, with the arm on the Spinner Square die set spinning down the sentiment on the arm.

Took advantage of my lovely plant outside to hold my card open.  This flower has the most amazing scent!

The Karen Burniston die can be purchased from the UK at This Link

Such a great die set as you can really make anything spin down behind and decorate the card however you want, with stamps, dies, toppers and whatever you like.  Such a versatile set.

Crafts U Love have a new drop down when you order, if you have been inspired to order because of anything I have posted please choose the option DESIGN TEAM.  Not strictly Design Team but closest I suppose :) Thank you xx

Bee Happy Card

I got back from Butlin's yesterday, a weekend away with my Mum and the boys, it was lovely we had such a fun time and the weather was gorgeous.

When I got home and whilst the washing machine was going  I got my Julie Hickey Designs stamps out and had a little play.  It was nice just to make a card for no reason, other than the enjoyment.  I adore this little bee stamp and the little squiggle reminds me of a little "buzz" :)   The flowers from the Essential set Happy Birthday is my favourite too.

I don't know if you have seen the Julie Hickey Designs but they are fab! and lucky for me they are being distributed by Crafts U Love.

I chose the Essential Sentiments Happy Birthday set and
the Beautiful Blooms set.  IN STOCK! Click the link above to take you
to the page where you can see all the designs available.

Floral Upsy Daisy

I was asked to make a card and was not sure what to use.  Would I choose the New Julie Hickey Designs from Crafts U Love?  Or would I choose the Karen Burniston die set? Then it dawned on me that I didn't have to choose which to use and I would simply use both!  The dies work effortlessly with the stamps to create and card that not only has the beauty of the stamps, but the sure genius of Karen Burniston's paper engineering. :)

I love nothing more than to colour,  and I coloured these gorgeous designs using the
Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a waterbrush.  I used the FABULOUSLY FLORAL stamp set
on Pre Order at Crafts U Love.   I also used the wording from the Essential Sentiments Happy Birthday set.  I decided I wanted my words separately so I snipped them apart with scissors a bit scary but I can choose to stamp them together in one line now or in two.

The image was stamped on the Karen Burniston Crosshatch Rectangles.
Such a fabulous go to die set.

For the inside I used the flower from the Happy Birthday Essential Set and masked it with a post it note to use other flowers together to form little bunches.
Other flowers used were from the Heartfelt Wishes   & Essential Sentiments Thank you set.

Of course the inside has all the WOW that  Karen Burniston die set can inject into a card and I used the Upsy Daisy die set.   IN STOCK AT CRAFTS U LOVE.

There are many ways to use and decorate the Upsy Daisy.
Check out Karen Burniston's blog   for more ideas where her amazing Design Team and herself work their magic.

I hope you like this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Until next time!

Alongside my blog post today  There is a special discount at Crafts U Love on the KB Riley range.

Paper Pros challenge - August - Anything goes

Its the Paper Pros challenge today and my card today did double bubble and was my card for a work colleague Charlotte who's birthday was yesterday.  Charlotte loves all things girly, unicorn, Disney and Princesses so I thought I would go with a card fit for a princess by using the Circle Charm Pop up die set.

I used some beautiful Bo Bunny papers from the Early Bird Collection.

I kept the inside really simple and just let the pretty Princess take centre stage.
I used a piece of acetate to sandwich between the centre piece to hold the heart.
There are various ways you can suspend things inside and indeed various ways to use this set  so check out all the ideas over on Karen Burniston's Blog and Facebook page.

Pretty Princess. added lots of glitter glue to her.

You can purchase all the dies I have used from
Crafts U Love where they are IN STOCK along with lots of others

Karen wants to add 2 more people to her Design Team.
I had pondered re-applying but I don't really think I am worthy a place
due to my recent lack of blogging so I am leaving it to you to apply and
take part in this fabulous Design Team.  Being part of the KB team really was the cherry on top of my crafting highs and I will never forget it.

Check out the other Paper Pros blogs to see what they have been up tolately and their Paper Pro's cards.

Paper Pros Challenge June - Food & Drink

Another month has flown by and here we are in June! and the Paper Pros challenge.  This months challenge is food & drink and we could use either/or/both.  I have chosen to use both with this tea & cake card.

My first play with the Upsy Daisy die set and WOW I am totally in love.
This die set gives the recipient a huge surprise when they open the card.  I've seen Karen Burnistons video where she adds a glue dot to the centre square, Karen A has made an amazing"one arm" pop up and well, just generally the Design Team has just knocked me out of the park with this die set.  make sure you check out each of their blogs.

Back to the theme today.. Food and Drink and I chose to use the cup from the Coffee charms set, also the donut from the sweets treats set.  Nothing washes a cake down like a good cup of tea :)  And the cute critters had to come to the party.  I used the Fox and hedgehog from previous releases.

Also you can book the Upsy Daisy class with me at

just £20 for a two hour class where you will make a beautiful card.  Theme to be decided. I would love to see you there.

Fox & Hedgehog are two different sets, currently out of stock but
please do contact the office at Crafts U Love at

if you want to order them.

Check out the rest of the paper pros cards - if any others join in I will add links later

Paper Pros May Challenge - No Socks days

Today its the Papers Pros challenge day, also NO SOCKS DAY!  Yes this is an actual day.  We the Paper Pros are celebrating with our own version of No Socks Cards.

Now most of the Paper Pros are part of the Karen Burniston Design team and they have just recently had a beachy theme card challenge.  Oh how fun and beautiful their cards were.  Myself not taking part with these challenges now I could not wait for today's challenge so I could make my own beachy card.

Yesterday in the UK it was Bank Holiday Monday and what a beautiful one it was.  We spent a few hours down Worthing Beach and it was indeed a no socks day then.

Here is the front of the card.  Was heavily inspired by Karen Burniston's
card from a while back.  I will list at the bottom the die sets used and there were a lot of them.

Here you can see the mermaid popping out from behind the main panel.
I used a Woodware Stamp set for the wording but adjusted it to say BEST FISHES instead of Best Wishes.

PAPERCRAFT - Paper Pros Challenge - Spring Flowers

Its another month and this months Paper Pros challenge is Spring Flowers.

For my card I used the Karen Burniston (www.karenburniston.com)
Fancy Label Accordion die (In stock at Crafts U Love)

The shapes used to decorate the card are from the Fancy Label Accordion set, apart from the Bee and words.

The gorgeous papers are a paper pad from Craft Consortium
-Tell the Bees collection from HERE

Sometimes simplicity is best.

And I will leave my blog post the same.
Until next time!

Paper Pros Challenge March - Green

I am here with my card for the Paper Pros challenge and this months theme was GREEN.

I needed a card for my husbands Birthday and how lucky for me that his preferred beer is green!  Also lucky for me there has been a whole ad campaign saying  "If Carlsberg did..."  So I changed that slightly to "If Carlsberg made cakes".

Now I have an admission to make.  I have hundreds of stamps AND hundreds of dies.  BUT my paper stash is ridiculous, I mean my paper stash is so pathetic that I could barely find green paper for my card!!  Yep, that bad.  Still I found this nice green check on the back of a Christmas design so that did the trick.  I pulled out some trusty Alphabet Stamps to stamp the words and used printed "Carlsberg" cans for decoration.

Inside the card I used the FABULOUS Karen Burniston KB Riley
Pop Up Cake die.  Of course following on the green and beer theme, this little fox looked decidedly cute to hold another can. (I am not sure he is old enough to drink, so I do hold he is just holding onto it)

Its all  a bit of fun and pleased this card did double duty in covering the challenge and my up and coming hubbies birthday!  49 this year!

Some of the other Paper Pros are playing along today.
See their "Green" creations on their blogs below.

Until next time!!

Paper Pro's - February Challenge - Love

Its time for a Papers pro challenge than this month it was me who was going to choose the theme and I kept it real simple... LOVE.  The Paper Pros could interpret that how they wished.

Here is my card and it was just a mass of me wanting to play with the new Karen Burniston dies from KB Riley and using lots of different sets to make this cute card.

I made this romantic card with a hint of Game of Thrones. (GoT I LOVE)
Alas I failed with my styling of "John Snow" but I made my Khaleesi inspired princess, a castle, a map paper and inside a hint of the House Stark Flag and Khaleesi's fallen dragon "Viserion" inside with an ice covered castle. "Winter is coming"

Happily Ever After adorns the inside, Viserion holds a heart, will he
forever love his "Mother of Dragons"?  I guess we have a long time
to wait to find out!

So this card merges two things I love, card making with Karen's dies and Game of Thrones.    It will also double up as Darren's Valentines card :)

I will link up below the items I have used for this challenge, most of these dies are in stock at Crafts U Love.

Click links below to see what the ladies have been up to.
Some may not be taking part in the Paper Pros challenge but click on over anyway as I am sure they have some beautiful samples.

CARD MAKING - Karen Burniston - Spinner Square Card - Valentines

Hi Friends
I am here today with my first card of the new 2018 release from Karen Burniston. Crafts U Love have them in stock NOW.  HERE

The first set I was keen on using was the Spinner Square die set, this is such a fabulous mechanism and can be used for so many things and decorated accordingly.  I happened to buy some pink card from work the other day so I just grabbed that with no card in mind.  Die cut the parts and went about the assembly.  Karen Burniston always supplies assembly videos for her dies.  After all they are hardly standard die cuts!  Of course you are going to need help.  So here is the link for the Spinner Square assembly instructions.

On the front I decorated it with
The Luv Ya stamp was from my stash and the face
on the sun also a stamp from stash (Peachy Keen)

Inside I have gone to town with the Tropical Scene and Sea Animals 1037

The shark hides behind the square panel and when opened swings out, this can be used for so many things.  Endless ideas!

So I'd not usually use pink for the sky but I think for Valentines it will pass and I do love Turquoise and Pink together.

I will add a punny wording onto the panel with the crab.
Any ideas greatfully received!  And if I pick your idea for my card
I will sort out a little crafty prize which will include some lovely papers
and a surprise so get commenting on my post.  Will post WORLDWIDE.

I have classes coming up using Karen's dies, including the Square Spinner (card will be decorated different to this one) at Crafts U Love in Charlwood in Surrey.  To look at details click HERE
