Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Hi Crafting Friends
I am back with my second card for the Designer Challenge and this months challenge is to show off the STAGE IT STENCILS.  Karen has 12 stencils in her line and you can see them all HERE

I will tell you the story about how this card come about, I was "chatting" to Karen on Facebook and saying that I didn't know what I was going to make and that I was going into shed to watch Game of Thrones and I would see what I made.  To that Karen said "Well obviously you need to make an Iron Throne using the Adirondack Chair! Ha." that got the old cogs in my brain working and that is the inspiration around my  GAME OF BONES card.

The front is mega simple.  I downloaded the Game of Thrones font and printed it on cardstock.
Cut from the Accordion Fancy Label decorator shape and edged with ink.
The paper is from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Through the Lens STONE paper pack.
This paper pack is perfect for this theme, especially the bleakness of Winterfell.

The words also a tongue in cheek bow down to "you know nothing Jon Snow" line
that is used several times in the programme by Ygritte.

Here you can see a fun Buster conversion, I was pondering making a
Kalisi from Whiskers the cat!  But went for one of my favourite characters Jon Snow.

I have used the Petite Flourish Stencil, another decorator piece from the Fancy
Accordion, Buster the dog, Adirondack Chair Pop up, Props 4 for one of the bones.

I used the stencil two ways on this card.   I inked through with a brown ink pad on the wording panel and I also used Minc Reactive Screen Ink and foiled it with Holographic Foil.

Karen Burniston dies can be purchased from Crafts U Love in the UK
or Elizabeth Craft Designs in the USA.  Both places ship worldwide.

Tomorrow you must check out Karen Burnistons blog for her blog post and do not forget to check out the links on the left of my page to see all the other creations from the DT members.

I hope you have enjoyed this card. Perfect for Game of Throne fans.

Elizabeth Crafts has this amazing deal going on for 20% off

Steampunk Hoppy

I am here with a card that I made last night using the new charms that Karen Burniston has released.  These are the Steampunk Charms, made to go with the Hanging Charm Pull card but of course work well with any card.

I am entering this as my first Challenge card for Karen Burniston - I got caught out by dates and since this card fits the bill I am using this one.

This months challenge is Stage it Stencils - Make a project of any theme incorporating one or more stencils.

The top hat, Wings, key and gears are all from that one set.
And you can just about make out that I have also used a gears stencil for this card.
Perfect for a masculine touch.  Of course being too serious is hard for me so I
injected some humour by adorning "Hoppy" with the top hat and gear eyepiece.

You can read all about the new Spring release HERE
and you can see more photos.

I will be off to my shed later to create a new card for tomorrows entry.
All I know is there will be stencils and possibly a bit of foil!

Until tomorrow

Happy Anniversary

Today is my anniversary.  16 years ago we visited the beautiful island of St Lucia on our 11th year of being a couple we got married.  So that's a whopping 27 years!

I LOVE you Darren x

I used the Karen Burniston Hanging Charm pull card and her gorgeous happy frog.  I am not sure why a frog when I think of my hubs. 😂😂

Karen Burniston - Designer Challenge - The Great Outdoors - part 2

Hi Friends
I am back again with my second item for the Designer Challenge this month and I decided to make a card.  First to choose what my outdoorsy theme would be and I decided to use Poppy the Owl and the new Through the Lens paper pad from Els at Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Designer Challenge - April - The Great Outdoors

Hi Crafters
I am here today with Aprils Challenge from Karen Burniston and this months brief was :
The Great Outdoors - create any sort of outdoor scene.

I was feeling a bit adventurous the other night and I fancied making a canvas to hold a photo.  As the theme was great outdoors I was looking at some photos I had from walks around the beautiful places in Surrey that we visit and I found this lovely one of Harvey from a recent (ish) walk to Reigate Priory.

I started with the canvas and swiped the Tim Holtz Crayons on it, spritz with water and then rubbed with fingers and made a nice background with lots of Autumnal colours.

I decorated the canvas with the following :
Karen Burniston All Season Tree for the tree, leaves and clouds*
Elizabeth Crafts Through the Lense Wood Paper Pack

* for the clouds I used the die to create a stencil to wipe the white
crayon through.

Reason for making a canvas, well we always make stuff for others and I wanted to make something for myself, something I could hang in our home.
Don't worry, Caiden has one coming real soon!

I used buttons and string to finish it off. And I really enjoyed making something a bit different for me, as much as I was tempted to add a critter on the frame somewhere, I resisted and let the trees and photo be the main focus.

I will be back tomorrow with another Great Outdoors creation, most probably a card, I have not decided yet.

Don't forget the check out the links on the LEFT  <---------- font="">

Until tomorrow

Happy Birthday Card

My niece Leanne is 30 tomorrow but had a party  down on the farm she lives on lady night.

Busy day yesterday as I worked all day.  Then off to the cinema to see  The Jungle Book which was great by the way. And then to the farm for a fancy dress party. 80's style.

Back to the card.  I used Cocoa the horse from Karen Burniston and the fence also from Karen Burniston to decorate the folded card which I created from a Jen Long die.  My niece has 2 horses so I felt the decoration fitted 😀

Cocoa and the fence can be purchased from Crafts U Love or Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I suppose I had better share us in fancy dress.  I was just in 80s neon. The other 3 80's  films.   Et, The Shining and Ghost busters 😁  can't say we are not game for a laugh  🙂

Meet Crafty

I have a visitor to my crafty palace.  Sometimes in the day, mostly at night.

I've named him Crafty, not very inventive.  But he's a beautiful  looking fox who I think lives just behind us.

I think the reason  he was on my shed roof last night was I had had my heating on for a few hours and heat rises. So a snuggling little fox.  ☺

And here's a fox card I made recently.

Under the weather

With so many sick bugs around right now they'll  be no shortage of use for this card.

I used the Penny Black stamp for the main image and a new Marianne die for the border.

Thursday, March 31

Awww Nuts...

Another birthday card.  This time made for another one of Harveys friends turning 13.  Teen boy  cards always hard but I decided on the comedy of the Taylored  Expressions BIRTHDAY Grumplings .

I also used one of my new Marianne  Borders for the  blue spot paper.

All from Crafts U Love.
