Its that time again, Challenge time. And its been a massive challenge just getting the cards done this month!! Christmas is such a busy busy time. Anyhow, back to the post, this time round the theme Karen has given us is Pop it Ups for every month! The Design Team will be creating Pop It Ups cards to fill the calendar for a year.
We all chose a month or two and I left mine late and I have April and December. Today's card is for April 1st April Fools Day. Something I used to enjoy as a kid and I still enjoy watching the news for their trick stories. Who can remember the Spaghetti Tree??
I admit to being a bit stumped as to what to do, and I started with google and I found this blog post HERE On this blog the lady created these fun chalkboard cards which started the old brain cogs going and that was the start!
This is Hoppy and Hoppy always makes me smile. A cute little guy to send an April Fools Greeting. But I think he has more than his good looks up his green little sleeves.
Firstly the card does not open the way it usually would and when you do open it you are greeted with this.
On the left you can see a greeting (from blog above) and on the right you can see
a piece of mirror card (this is the super clear type from Mr Holtz)
It is hard to read in this photo but it reads
"Its April 1st
but you're no fool
This Note is to say
you are too cool"
You need to angle the card "just so" to read the text in the mirrored card.
I have used a stack of Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Craft Design dies
The main image is the Katie Accordion and I have followed Karen's brilliant Tutorial showing you how to create a Landscape Accordion.
You can see the tutorial one my previous posting.
I also used the grass from the Pop Up Bench
The edges of the album have been trimmed using the Ring Frame Edge
Hat and Bow tie are from the Props 1 set
And the heart from Spiral Pull card.
I do hope you like my card.
I will be back tomorrow night with another card for the challenge, an easier one
this time for December and Christmas, this will be the FIRST Christmas
card I have actually made! Shocking isn't it?!
