Awww Nuts...

Another birthday card.  This time made for another one of Harveys friends turning 13.  Teen boy  cards always hard but I decided on the comedy of the Taylored  Expressions BIRTHDAY Grumplings .

I also used one of my new Marianne  Borders for the  blue spot paper.

All from Crafts U Love.

Happy birthday Card

I had to make a quick card for my neighbour to give to her husband and whilst making cards for men isn't my favourite zip managed to knock this up with the Happy Birthday pop it up die from Karen Burniston.  I  also decorated  the front with the Barn star from the star accordion.

Happy Easter

I made this card... Actually for my mum total and forgot to give it to her, it's still in my shed. 😢

I used  the circle pull card  and  Penny Black stamp.  Some gorgeous papers from Echo Park.

I hope you've had a lovely  Easter.  My mum came for dinner and we had a huge roast  and Darren made handmade ice cream and we made waffle cone baskets and they had chopped strawberries in theirs  too.  I forgot to take pictures this time but I'll add one from last time.  We made it using Darrens new kitchen gadgets from Gourmet Gadgetry.

Fold-a-long dies

You may of seen the new Jennifer Long "Fox Tales" fold-a-long dies featuring an adorable Fox and owl shaped  card.  I love anything a bit different and  of course I had to have these.  However I didn't  realise that there was a whole selection  of these. Mainly because they appear mostly to be restricted to UK via  wholesale distributors 😢.

I did manage to get this die in the post and last night made a quick card.

The cute bee inside is from Taylored  Expressions and I stamped it with Tim Holtz Scattered Straw to give it a "no lines" look.

Fox and Owl currently out of stock at www.craftsulove.co.uk  but will be back in stock soon.

I purchased  this one from www.scrapbook.com in USA since not available in the uk.

Karen Burniston's designer challenge day 2

Here with my second card for the designer challenge and for this one I have used the Rectangle Pull Card from  Karen Burniston.  I cut a rectangular window from the pull card and used acetate to suspend a butterfly in it.

You can see a whole host of inspiration on the links top left for all the designers.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Pull it!

This months challenge was :

Pull it! Use any of the Pull Cards OR the Hanging Charm Pull Tab for a card of any style, any theme.

I needed a card for my husband's birthday this week so I made sure that one of my challenge cards was with him in mind.  Having just received the Elizabeth Craft Designs "Through the lense" papers I was inspired by the colours with one of the designs.

I chose a lovely blue and brown stone paper and chosen the soft finish cardstock accordingly.

Now how to decorate... Hmm I challenged myself to make this not too cute, no characters!! what! But I did think of what Darren loves and he loves cake!  Happy Cake Day was the perfect sentiment and I made it using the Happy Birth(day) Pop it up and the single letters.

I used the RECTANGLE PULL CARD with no other insert so it just opens up
and on the inside I used the CAKE POP IT UP

as you can see I kept the colours the same inside and I used a metallic cream to
highlight the TRENDY TILES EMBOSSING FOLDER

All these dies of course make fantastic pop up and interactive cards but look how fabulous the
cake looks flat inside the card.

Dies can of course be purchased from  Crafts U Love in the UK
or American friends who prefer to purchase from the USA via

I will be back tomorrow with another PULL IT! card

Cheepers and the amazing egg

I made this card for a create and take at Crafts U Love the other week.

I did a little trimming to make cheepers more feminine and added a bow on her head.
Cut the legs apart and placed them wider so it looked like she was sitting
on their rather marvellous egg she'd just layed!

Cheepers the Chicken from Karen Burniston
Easter Eggs from Elizabeth Craft Designs
Echo Park papers
Burlap Embossing Folder
Tim Holtz Happy Easter Wording

A cute little card for Easter.

I have a TEENAGER!!

Its Harvey's 13th Birthday today.  How the heck did that happen?!

I have always made the boys cards and as they get older it gets a bit challenging but Harvey LOVES Warhammer and it's always easier if the kids have a hobby so I set about making Harvey's card.

First thing... Hmmm he waffles A LOT about Warhammer.  "yes, Mmm, interesting, that's good" I make all the right sounds whilst he waffles on but "oh cr*p" do I actually remember what faction he likes?  I knew it was 40 k, I knew it was Space Marines... "Fist...Hmmm work brain work" YES!  Imperial Fists - they are Yellow and I know I have purchased several pots of Yellow paint.

Of course I LOVE to make Pop it Ups cards with Karen Burniston's designs so I reached for the trusty "Lots of Pops" die to make this card for Harvey.   A quick google and I was all set with printed images.

On the whole card I used the A4 Sizzix spotty Embossing Folder
and swiped a metallic ink pad on it to make it DIRTY and BOYISH :)

The Happy Birthday Corner was a DIE-VERSIONS die

The 13 was the MARIANNE Numbers.

Inside the card I used the KAREN BURNISTON LOTS OF POPS DIE
and the cogs are from the CLOCKS AND GEARS SET

Taylored Expressions Embossing Folder - BURLAP

Heaps more Metallic Ink

And a side view to show the depth of the card.

I must say I was so pleased with the card that I made that I shared on a Warhammer
Facebook group and I must say it was the first time EVER that I had 108 Responses and
I would say 95% of those were male!! Guess I knew my audience who would appreciate
the card :)

Today Harvey has gone to school and is making a cake in Cooking.  It will be his Birthday cake so I hope he is doing a good job.  I am cooking pulled pork for his Birthday tea (as requested)

I hope you are inspired by the card.  In effect anything that the kids are into
now days can be found with a quick google and if you print bits out you can make
a one of a kind card that they are sure to appreciate.
