Crafts U Love - Create and Take - Woodware "Special Bird"

I helped out this week by designing the create and take at work.  I do love the Francoise Read Woodware designs and I do have a "thing" about birds.  You can find all the Woodware stamp designs HERE   I have many more on my "Wish List" and Woodware stamps are always such a good price too :)

A simple card with some paper piecing and colouring.  One of my favourite colours being Orange and worked well on this flower.

I also used the Marianne Banners set

Karen Burniston January Challenge - Day 2 - Rock(y) the boat

I am back with my second card for the January challenge,  I won't waffle much, I am doing this before I have to go to work.  I was so inspired by Donna Wrights Owl and Pussycat card I asked if she minded that I copy her making the bathtub into a boat idea and she said of course not.

Check out all the fabulous cards for this month on the links on the left and I will post a link to Karen's own post tomorrow when it is online.
On the inside of my card I have used :

Lots of Pops to be the base of my pop it up
Bathtub for the Boat
Pole from the Lots of Pops die set
Beach edges for the waves & Palms
Shells and Crab from Rocky set
Label for words is from Lorna Label Pop up
Clouds from All Seasons Tree

I hand cut the sails

On the outside I used an array of stamps some of which are very old.

Stampendous Words and Scene
Elzybells fish on left
Amuse Fish on right

I sponged the ink to create a sunset scene.

I was really pleased how this card came out.  Rocky is such a fun character and it
was fun to pile on the different dies.  Of course if you didnt have all of these
I am sure you would be able to make it a bit simpler.

Meet Rocky the Crab..... Karen Burniston Star Accordion

You may have gathered that Mondays are my day off!! LOL

I get so much done on a Monday, after Sundays they are the best day of the week
for me, just a shame there aren't other Mondays in the week.

It usually consists of Housework, making appointments, waiting in for deliveries
or appoinments.  Also I manage blog posts and potter about.  Sometimes I even grab an hour
in the Palace.  Not today but its been a good day and I have got lots done.

I made this little 2 page Star Accordion showing off
Rocky the crab and made a little star fish using the star
from the star accordion.
Also on these pages I used :

Clouds from All Season tree - OUT NOW
Waves from Beach Edges - COMING SOON
Shell from Rocky Crab Character die
The lines die from the Star Fancy Frame Edges set

That is all for today.  I will be back tomorrow.

Don't forget Karen's dies will be available PRE ORDER
from Crafts U Love

Taylored Expressions Sack it FROG

I love Taylored Expressions Sack it dies and as soon as I saw the frog I knew I must have it.   With the sack its, you purchased the original Sack it and then decorate it with additional dies. I got it when we went back to work after Christmas for my Christmas Pressie :)   I also brought the Hedgehog too.  I have in the past before Owls, collected both Frogs and Hedgehogs.  First it was the Frogs and then Hedgehogs.  I still love all three :)  I will try and make the Hedgehog this week.

These would be perfect for party boxes for a Princess party.  Would look super cute with a bow on her head, or a bow tie for a male one.  Lots of ideas.

They are in stock at Crafts U Love.

Karen Burniston January Challenge - Woof

Hi crafty friends
Me again.. I know, nothing for ages and then lots of cards!

I am back with the January Karen Burniston Designer Challenge and for this month our challenge was to combine dies from 3 different categories.  We have lots to choose from...  Character Dies, Accordions, Pull Cards, Pop it ups, Pop Stands, Pivots, Accessories and Edges.

On this one card I have used parts from many of these categories.  I will list them at the end.

I have used Buster on the Rectangle Pull Card and you may notice that Buster has been "restyled" using the same technique that Karen Burniston used in this blog post.

I have also used and I will list them
Star border from the Happy Birthday Pop Up!
Tag from the Tag Pivot card
Star from the Star Accordion
Bone & Paw from the Props 4 set
Alphabet is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and coming soon too

Here you can see the inside Pop up mechanism that comes with the Rectangle Pull
card.  Once you open the card it will pop up whatever you stick on the inside.
A great animation for your card.

I have shot this little video to show how the card works.
It was fun trying to hold my phone in my teeth and shoot this!! LOL

All dies will be pre order from Crafts U Love soon.

I will be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, here is a little tiny
snippet at what it is.

Karen Burniston - Whiskers and Adirondack chair - CHA 2015

Back again and here is another sample card I made for the CHA 2015 stand.  Hard to believe that my cards were being seen by retailers from all over!!  The turn around for these cards was tight, along with the before Christmas manic time but I managed to make a few cards that I was happy with.

Here I am with the Adirondack chair and Whiskers the cat.  Adorable.  I styled the cat to be a ginger striped cat, much like Marley my old cat that lives with my Mum.

I painted the chair with some white distress crackle paint to give it a weathered look.

For Whiskers collar I used some of the A4 glitter foam sheets
these are self adhesive and come in many colours.

As well as the two above mentioned dies I used the
All Seasons Tree, Grass from Outdoor edges, Paw from the Pet Accessories and
postage stamp from the Rectangle Pull Card set.

The papers are Crate Paper Kiss Kiss Collection

Available to PRE ORDER very soon at

Rectangle Pull Card - Karen Burniston - CHA 2015 Release

I am back with another card that I made for Karen and the CHA stand.

This time I used the Rectangle Pull card and used a Penny Black rubber stamp
to show off how lovely this die is.

How cute is this?  I mean how utterly horrible is this?
The little postage stamp is part of the same set and the paper clip is
from the Tag Pivot set - I LOVE all these little decorative additions
that make Karen's die sets so fab!

(OK Jan have I convinced you you
do not want this die and it makes horrible cards?)

This is the inside and it is hard to see how fun the inside can be with the little
pop out part for inside.  You'll have to take my word for it, the ideas for this
die are endless.  Die cuts and stamps both work well on this.
 This is a big runner
for my favourite die of this release. :)

These will be available for Pre Order soon at Crafts U Love

Buster - Karen Burniston CHA 2015 release

Sorry I did not post yesterday, I do not know where time goes at the weekends.  Work every Saturday and Sunday is the family day and we had a nice time making cakes and biscuits before I knew it it was bath and bedtime.

I am back today with another one of Karen Burnistons New die designs from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This is Buster and he is one of Karens new character dies.  Now, I have just come back from walking my own little dog Milo and with it being wet outside Milo could have done with a bath on his return.  Looks like Buster needed a bath too as made evident with the muddy prints all over the bathroom floor, rug and on the side of the bath too!  With a little snipping I managed to get Busters little legs up in the air, where he is having splish sploshing fun.  I have teamed Buster up with a new style of die the Pop Stand Bathtub.

Buster, the bath and all of Karens dies will be available to order from Crafts U Love in the UK at

I will let you know when they are either in stock or available for Pre Order.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back soon.

Wishing you well - Karen Burniston Tag Pivot Die

Christmas came early in my house with the arrival of the new Karen Burniston dies.  A collection of 17 Dies and there is bound to be something for everyone in this collection.  How I managed to concentrate on Christmas I really do not know and I was bursting to show anyone who would be interested but of course I had to keep it to myself until reveal time (which is now - whoop whoop!)

The collection consists of :

2 Accordion Albums - Star and Rectangle
1 Pull Card - Rectangle
1 Pivot - Tag Pivot
1 Pop it up - Adrondack Chair
2 Frame sets
2 Pop Stands - NEW to range - Eiffel Tower and Bathtub
2 Edges - fun beach scene and Paris Edges
2 Props sets - Pets and Snorkel
3 Cute characters - Rocky the crab, Buster the dog and Whiskers the cat
1 scene set - Palm Tree and Pail

I love them all for different reasons.

Myself and the Designers on Karens Challenge team were asked if we would possibly be able to make samples for CHA the trade show going on in America as we speak and of course we all obliged.  I made a few, not as many as I would have wanted but the time schedule was very tight and I wanted to post them so they got there in time.

Here is one card I made, this was not for CHA but actually a card I made for my Grandad in hospital.  Its not your usual Grandad card, but I used masculine colours and I thought the cat would bring a smile to his face.  Here I have used the Tag Pivot card.  So easy to use and as usual Karen has such amazing decorator dies in her sets and the three tags on this card are also dies in this set.

I will be back tomorrow with another card with another die.
Unfortunately the photos are not the best though, sorry!!

The new Karen Burniston will be available from Crafts U Love
