Happy Birthday Darren .... now get our there and work on my palace

LOL

Poor hubby, he has a busy birthday! He is going to be earning him self some big fat browny points to redeem at a later date. I am hoping the electrics will be done, without the house blowing up! or my Palace more importantly :0) I am hoping the carpet will be laid and most of the furniture is put in too. Maybe even by the end of tomorrow my first creation will come to life? It will be wonderful to have my stamps out of the blocked cupboard in the bedroom, all my stuff together again.

So as promised I made a card... I used a Stampendous Changito stamp... cute eh? the other stamped elements are Stampendous too, the scalloped label, words and the birthday words. Fran has made some fantastic designs this release. Can you see how much I love my hubby? I mean, 4 flowers! 4 zoomz! gotta love someone to give him all that! LOL [how my twisted mind works, I show you my love by the number of pritties I put on your card - hey calm down Caz they can always be picked off, or even better get him to give you the WHOLE card back!]

If you look close enough you can see the swiss dots cuttlebugged "Rose Red" piece of cardstock. This has to be my fav Stampin' Up! colour, this is teamed up with some lovely Daisy Bucket paper and Old Olive SU card base.

Paper, Changito, Flowers - all from Glitter Pot
Other stamps could be ordered from GP for you, ask them!
Cardstock is SU and available from your preferred SU rep - or me! :)

** edited photo to add my adorable watermark .... see side bar for link to lady who can make you one too!! ------------------------------------>

I will be out there later with my camera in hand, taking shots as it all comes together. If you dont wanna read the shedscapades I suggest "staying away from the blog" for a good few days.. but hey, thats up to you, there might be a card, so it's your call!

Orange??

What is it that scares people? I love orange, such a bright and happy colour but if I had a pound for all those that said "I dont do orange" during a class or demo then I would be rich. Funny isnt it? What makes us like things, dislike others.

I coloured this image (above) in the other night and have at last made time to make a card. It is orange and lime which are two of my fav colours, I like bright happy colours, cant fail to make to make me smile. I have used my watercolour crayons from Stampin' Up! my new favourite colouring medium, well those and the distress ink pads, I used those yesterday and ended up buying 10!! LOL Not quiet the idea to be selling to myself!
I made the flower type things with three different Stampin' Up! cardstock colours and the Stampin' Up! Scallop circle punch. I added Zoomz to the centre, thought it turned out cute.
I love how the light caught the glitter glue when I took the photo tonight.
News on the shed/base progress. Darren has done fantastically well, he has mixed about 1 1/2 tonnes of ballast and cement (by hand) and made great headway with it. I went to my Mum and asked her if I could take some of Dad's ashes to sprinkle in my base... Hmm does that make me weird, to want to do that? I was going to have some anyway and I wanted it to be somewhere undisturbed in the garden and not somewhere we would dig up in 6 months time. So I can truely sit in my Palace and think of him being near. I told him I wanted him to inspire me to make fantastic cards!
I had better go, Harvey has the nesquick powder and is making a mess!! Kids eh?

Funky Fairy Card

I got these adorable stamps the other day and couldnt wait to play and share with you.

She is fun isnt she? They were smaller than I thought they would be but it means I can use maller cards and still embellish so I dont mind. This card is a 6 x 6 square (I think) and she fits beautifully and I can still add the words ect ect ect

OK, I used a lot of different stuff for this. The Fairy is from Funky Fairies Papercrafts ( there is a link a few posts down) The orange/yellow jewels at the bottom are zoomz and from www.stampgalaxy.co.uk The flower background is by Penny Black and from www.theglitterpot.co.uk, the scalloped edge is made using the Stampin' Up! corner punch with the guard removed, the scalloped circle is from Stampin' Up! too, the words are a fabby Stampendous cube and I am sure the Glitter Pot could help you out with that too.

I coloured with watercolour pencils, aqua brush and I used the distresser tool keyring from SU for the distressed edge. I added a little "bling" with good ol' crystal glitter glue.

Another Magnolia I am afraid!

I do hope you are not bored of them, but this little guy needed inking up, he was getting a complex ass (whoops) I have had him some weeks and not used him. **** apologies for people on subscription as I typed Ass!! LOL gave me a giggle though!!**

At my demo at CUL there was this rather fun looking card, I have seen these before and perhaps someone can tell me the official name for this card? I have been calling it a "oingy boingy card" LOL So I measured it, and folded it and here it is.

Magnolia stamp, Dovecraft Paper, Prima Flowers, Zoomz from Stamp Galaxy, Cinnamon star and heart, pencils, glitter glue and a whole lotta fun!

Twit Twooo

I fancied playing with one of my Stampendous owls yesterday so I made this card. I love halloween even though we don;t celebrate it big time over here in the UK. We'll still go trick or treating providing Harvey has gotten a good school report :) LOL we have parents evening that evening too.

I used Stampendous owl "ollies treats" and coloured him with watercolour pencils. The paper is doodlebug. The spider is a cuttlebug cutter, the scallops are hiding a boo boo and are done using the SU slit punch (please please SU UK have this in the catalogue!) I went to town with the decoration and added zoomz, doodlebug jewels, glitter glue and ribbon.

I am working today at my favourite craft store, The Glitter Pot. I have two fun classes planned with us making a joy fold, criss cross, diarama and file folder card. I will share the pictures later when I have done the class :0) I love the Glitter Pot, they have a fantastic selection of stamps including a HUGE collection of Penny Black (my all time fav stamps) lots of beautiful papers, embellishments and everything you can think of really! I am there again next Saturday for a demo and I will be using some fun Whipper Snapper Christmas designs, I cant wait! Try and come along and say "hi" if you do.

Right had better get sorted for my trip. Speak later.

Chocolate...

Nope not what you eat.... some to look at on this chocolate and aqua Magnolia card :0)

I love this little girl, this is an image I got from Kim (Ta mate) I used watercolour pencils to colour it in. The swirls are from The Glitter Pot and are a sizzix long die (fab), ribbons in the criss cross (again) and some zoomz and glitter to finish. Oh and the fabby flower was a gift from my NSSS from the Cricut forum Sherilyn

My house is a mess....

So what do I do when Harveys at school? Make a card what else? Takes my mind off my previous post. I coloured this adorable Bella in last week so I just had to quickly mount it up today. The sentiment was one of those cheapy stamps from those bins at Crafts Central, I love it, nice sentiment, text and I love the way its in a circle, sometimes it is worth a rummage through those things.

The flowers are Bazzill wings from The Glitter Pot the centres of the flowers are zoomz from Stamp Galaxy apart from the one in the yellow flower which is a Bellas Bauble from Creative Pastimes. You cant see it well in the photo but they are green, orange and a browny colour.

Here is Harvey having a cuddle with
MingMing. We had a look yesterday and we are sure she is a she :) which I am pleased about. Our old rabbit Stamper wasnt good to handle and he was a BIG lop eared male. he wasnt "done" and he was a bit of a bruiser and used to squirt if he got the kids near him so it wasnt nice. Harvey is pleased to have MingMing to cuddle. It looks like he is squashing her! but I can assure you he wasnt :)

Awww isnt it cute?

I have mentioned before I love House Mouse, I have a lot and havent used them for a while, when I made a few cards a few weeks back it rekindled my love for them and I got a few more from First Class Stamps Here is the first card I managed with them.

These little guys are going to sleep well tonight arent they? Lavendar having a calming, soothing effect.
I have as always kept it simple and let the main image take the full lime light. Coloured with pencils, white card was cuttlebugged, zoomz were added as decoration. Thanks for looking!
Now for some chatter.... roll on Friday! why? Ugly Betty is coming back and I am SOOOO EXCITED! I loved the first series and cant wait for it :) Husband is pleased as I think he said Spooks was coming back and Heroes too. The winter is great for vegging infront of the TV.

Another wall frame made yesterday

After finishing my coaster hanging I was inspired to decorate a frame that I have had hanging about for ages. I have one of these on the wall with pictures of Harvey and his name in chipboard it much more simple. This one I went to town on, lots of bits and bobs used to make it. This frame is BIG, to get an idea the size the background paper is 12 x 12, yep, a full sheet! and then there is another 6" to the left of the paper.

OK here is what I used : Cricut Plantin Schoolbook card for words, Doodlecharms for bugs, 12 x 12 paper and card. The photo is 8 x 10 I believe, Prima flowers and Doodlebug Jewels used for the centres of flowers (who says boys cant have flowers?) Zoomz on the bugs shells.

I love it, its something like a memory page but better still you can see it all the time :) I am definately going to spend more time on making things like this :)

I hope you are liking my "out of my box" creations. Its fun to try different things sometimes.
I am pondering on adding the words either "forever" or "always" to the bottom of the frame in the opposites attract font.... might look cute :)

A quick card for today

I Couldnt leave you three days without a card and I was dying to use this new Bella stamp, OOppsm, did I say new? I meant "what this old thing, I have had it for ages" (LOL)

So its a simple one but I lovey it!

I used Stamping Bellas "Wreathabella" which you can find in various stores around the UK now, including Creative Pastimes. Some doodlebug paper, woodware ribbon, Stamping Bellas Baubles in Pickle and a red rudolphs nose zoomz.

Update on the woo (why do we do that? make up funny names for our kids) anyway, Caiden is still barking like a seal, but generally seems a little better. Harvey is fine and currently screaming out the words to Tommy Zoom! LOL bless him, he makes me giggle as he doesnt know all the words so he kinda makes bits up, bit like me Dad he always does that! We had a naughty MacD's for lunch today so we are having a healthier tea tonight. I said to Darren last night and sorry this is TMI, but why did Caiden have to throw up on a "good tea" night, I mean he lost all his veg! LOL if it were fish fingers and chips or something it wouldnt have been so bad, but he lost all his peas and carrots.... :0) another inside to the strange thoughts I have!

I am upstairs tonight finishing my last card for the class I have Saturday. I have soooo much stuff I want to play with and share with you all.

Feels like forever, infact it was just one day! LOL But I have got so much new stuff to play with its all queing up. First card for today is a Magnolia design. These are beautiful stamps from Sweden and I managed to grab a few preordered ones before they sold out.

First time I have used my watercolour crayons from Stampin Up! and they are beautiful! The colour is so rich, creamy like, I can see these becoming a favourite for me.

Materials Used : Magnolia stamp, Penny Black words, Cuttlebug flower, 3" woodware scallop punch, Zoomz, glitter glue, Stampin up! Watercolour crayons, Doodlebug Paper, Prima flowers

What a beautiful sunny day, very chilly in the wind but sunny. I think I need to make the most of the sunshine as its set to start raining soon.

Not sure where I can take my photos when the rain comes, I love using the sun to pick up the shimmer and shine.

Good enough to eat

I made this card for a friend who has just moved house. I havent really got any new home stamps so I had to do something a little different, so I made this little mouse card to say "Enjoy" your new house and the new chapter in your life. I used a cute little House Mouse Design and then added some zoomz for the donuts sprinkles, these kinda look like the ones Harvey always goes for in the shops.

Kitty from First Class Crafts has come to my rescue getting my new House Mouse fix, boy am I excited as I picked some beautiful ones! These stamps are perfect for my colouring fix.

I am much happier with my photos of late. Reason being I think you just cant beat good old fashioned sunlight! Normally I place my cards on the table in the back garden, today as I was taking the photo this morning I had to place it onto the front garden as the sun is there at this time of the day.

Wednesday, September 12

Dont ya just love these miceys?

I used to love House Mouse stamps. I still do, but back then I did big time and had well over 100 designs. I have since sold most, I have about 30-40 I suppose and I thought I would dust them off and make a card with one. I love the ones with the fruits, the grapes and berries. So I chose this one for my House Mouse revisit. How I enjoyed colouring this in.

I love strawberries, I love their colour but I dont eat them. I am not a fruit lover, but I have tried to like strawberries at various times just coz they look so scrummy, but I dont. weird eh?

I have used the cuttlebut machine to emboss the "Spots and Dots" and the "Devine Swirls". I used the lovely spotty paper that I got from my demo at Eternal Maker and the used the Rudolphs Nose Zoomz from Stamp Galaxy for the centre of the cuttlebugged flowers.

Hope you like my revist to these cute little mice. I am wanting to get a few of the newer mice and some of the Happy Hopper stamps so if you know of a good place to get these from please let me know :)
