Paper Pros June Challenge - Masculine Birthday Cards

Hello Crafters
I am back with another Paper Pros Challenge and this month Shelly chose "Masculine Birthday Cards ".

Of course I am still excited to be playing with the KB Riley Dies that I purchased the other month and slowly but surely ticking off all the dies.

This card was made using the Popular "Twist Panel Pop Up"
which is on PRE ORDER at Crafts U Love HERE
there is currently a Discount on all Pre Orders so get ordering now
as there are some fantastic savings.
Also you can get this one from www.karenburniston.com
I have decorated the top and bottom of the card with the Nature Edges
This set of 3 border dies will be used time and time again I can feel it.

I have to admit to cutting the background paper first, it was masculine
in theme and colour but I had no clue where I was going with this card
and it nearly ended up in the bin.  True to form LAST MINUTE.com
I was only making this last night, the night before the deadline! LOL
And whilst it is a "Relaxed" challenge in that it is just friends
who are creating to a theme, I really wanted to make a card
last night so it made sense to stick with it.

This card shape is very popular and Karen did devise a way last year to make one using another one of her dies.  Whilst this and also cutting your own works, oh my! it is a faff I really could do without and using this die set is so simple.  Also the fact you get decorator dies to finish it off it really is a no brainer!  Look at the height and dimension on this card and yep it will fit in an envelope.

So having made the card I didn't know what to decorate the panels with, sitting there in front of me on my wooden stamp unit I saw this plane I thought it would be perfect to use.  I did not worry too much that the plane is not stamped perfectly spaced across the panels you can get the general idea and it works really well.

I coloured most of it in with the Nuvo Aqua Flow brushes, I adore these to colour with.  HERE  and stamped onto this paper HERE its a nice weight to colour and die cuts lovely too.

I do hope that you have liked looking at my card today.
Hope to be back soon.
Happy Crafting

Karen Burniston KB Riley - Cupcake Pop Up

Hello
I am back again with another one of the NEW Karen Burniston dies. Could not wait to play with another one.

This time I have used the Cupcake Pop Up to create a card for my son Caiden who is 11 next week.  He is 11 (how the heck that happen) on Thursday but he is on School Journey and will be away from home :(   We are celebrating his birthday early this Sunday so I needed to get a card done sooner rather than later.

Caiden loves cakes!  (who doesn't) so I had to think for just a nano second to which die set I would use.  Karen Burniston Cupcake Pop Up from Crafts U Love in the UK or www.Karenburniston.com for America.

To make it cute I added some face stamps from Peachy Keen Stamps and some fun Googly eyes.

For the front I kept it simple with just the sentiment and hearts echoed on the front too.

I do hope that you have enjoyed looking at my card today.

I am off to my shed to make another!  Now which die to choose next.

Until next time.

New Karen Burniston Dies from KB Riley

When I heard that Karen Burniston had start a new company in Cahoots with Riley & Company I knew I had to place an order.  Not only is Karen an amazing die creator, 3d paper engineering genius, she is a good friend and I wish her and her new venture massive luck and I am behind her all the way, waving the Karen Burniston Flag!

I have loved Karen's dies for many years as she has transitioned from Sizzix to Elizabeth Craft Designs and I think her dies just get better and better.  So much hard work and thought has gone into these designs and its not just that, she is not one to create and die and leave you figuring how on earth to make it, oh no. There are videos for all of her interactive dies so you can see exactly how to make it.  I have lost count of the dies I have purchased elsewhere that contain next to NO instructions and a video that although punchy and fun to look at you have to rewind umpteen times to watch the main instruction again again.

For this card, and it was a special one for my Mum I used for the "Main Attraction" the new CHARM ACCORDION DIE SET
link takes you to Karen Burniston.com but they are on PRE ORDER

THERE IS A PRE ORDER DISCOUNT at Crafts  U LOVE BTW
So grab them at the lower prices while you can.

This die set includes 11 Dies including 5 Charms to hang.

Unlike previous Accordions you can make a 2 page card in a single pass
for the main pages as additional pages are added on using the cute little hinge dies.  The two moving pages that we are used to joining together now get joined together with the cute little hanging charm frame in between.

Decorating the pages I had to use the Adorable Fox from the
Woodland Animals set.  It's so adorable!
and finally, no birthday card is complete without a Birthday Cake and I used the smaller of the two from the

Here is the video to show you how to assemble.

I hope you are as excited as me to see Karen Burniston back.

I will be back with another card real soon, I have Caiden's Birthday coming up so I need to get a wiggle on making that one.  And I know just the die set I am going to use for my Cake Loving Son!
