Crazy For Challenges - Butterfly

C4C342 June 25 2016
Add a BUTTERFLY! I love butterflies, so have a butterfly be the main focus
of your card this week. If that doesn’t work of you - just add a butterfly. :-)

Hi Crafters,
my last week of being Guest for Karen Aicken over on Crazy 4 Challenges blog and I have to admit after an amazing start in making the first cards so quickly and far ahead I am here the day before the day its due with a card that I did make a few weeks ago for work but not blogged.  A little cheat... I see it as a little lucky that I had made a card that worked for the theme and hadn't blogged it.  I have been decorating the house this morning and just ran out of time for a new card.  Sometimes you just have to admit defeat and go with a back up plan.  I had wanted to show off the new technique that Karen Burniston showed yesterday on her blog but that will be for another day.

Still, it fits the theme wonderfully.

I used a square card and cut it down on the front to reveal a side panel of purple stamped
butterflies and coloured with white pencils.

Super simple and super "doable".  I like making cards that anyone can do.

Until next time Crafters.

A huge thank you to Karen for inviting me, I had really enjoyed it xx

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Summer Lovin BONUS Project

I was feeling creative last night and since I accidentally posted Tuesday card on Monday I wanted to make another card for Tuesday, so I have made 3 cards this month for the challenge.

I got some wonderful paper from work and that was the starting point for me.  The lollies on the paper, inspired me to make my own lolly from the Pivot Tag and then I decided to make the whole card from the Pivot Tag set.  The sentiment was sitting one a Penny Black stamp set that I needed to put away and I thought it would be fun to use the "cool" sentiment with Chilly the Penguin.

Chilly is looking very cool with his glasses and ice pop

Inside I kept the decoration simple by just using the decorator tags in bright colours
and adding a heart and buttons.

Karens post from yesterday is HERE
and today she will be uploading a video showing you how she made her amazing card.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Summer Lovin' Day 2

Opps  Accidentally posted this on Monday, please pretend you are reading it Tuesday!

Hi Crafting Friends and today I am here with my second card for the Summer Lovin' Challenge.  Here is the brief "Summer Lovin'! Make a project to celebrate Summer - this could be nature, or beach or 4th of July or anything that means "summer" to you."

Yesterday I showed you a card with the currently British Summertime weather Status RAIN!!  Today I show off a card with the weather for our Summer Holiday destination in Spain and we are expecting it to be hot hot hot in Spain when  we visit later in August :)

Here I am with ANOTHER Hanging Charm Pull Tab card, yes I am a little addicted to them
now, after a slow start for me falling in love with this die its one of my favourite dies from
Karen, Characters aside.  And talking Characters, it wasn't a plan to use Jinks for both of the
cards for this months challenge, but it just happened that Jinks was in the perfect dancing pose.

I cut down a paper flower to create Jinks little Bikini top, and hand cut a little grass skirt too.  I had to narrow down jinks under the skirt to fit.  I also added the leaves from the Palm Tree set and some small flowers on her head finished her off nicely.

Whilst it isn't raining tonight I took the photo on the grass, now got
wet socks, the things I do for a bit of daylight :)

I used the beach edges at the bottom of the card and an old stamp
with the perfect sentiment.

I will list the materials below  :

Karen Burniston - Jinks the Monkey
Karen Burniston - Hanging Charm Pull Tab
Karen Burniston - Beach Edges

Karen has got an amazing video for Wednesday  you must check it out.
And don't forget the links on the left for my fellow DT members.  Their cards blow
me away month after month.

Until next time xx

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge June - Summer Lovin'

Hi Crafting Friends and today I am here with my first card for the Summer Lovin' Challenge.  Here is the brief "Summer Lovin'! Make a project to celebrate Summer - this could be nature, or beach or 4th of July or anything that means "summer" to you."

Those in the UK might get a smile from my first card.  Unfortunately sometimes the summer in the UK can be wetter than sunnier!  And Here is jinks all ready for a summer day in the UK.  Today when I am typing this (Tuesday) we have had terrible rain storms and now sunshine.  Rainbows are always a welcome part of the sunshine and rain though.

For fun I hung it on my washing line and you can even see raindrops on the washing line!

For this card I used :

Karen Burniston - Die -Jinks the Monkey
Karen Burniston - Stage it Stencil - Rain
Karen Burniston - Die - Props 6 - For the wellies
Karen Burniston - Die - Baby Charms - Umbrella
ECD - Josets Rainbow set for the rainbow, clouds and sun.

For the large "Summer" cloud I die cut the die onto a folded piece of card to make it extra long.

Check out the rest of the teams cards on the links on the left and as usual Karen will
be posting her own project on Wednesday of this week.

And I will be back tomorrow with my second Summer Lovin' Card.

C4C342 Sketch - Guest

Hello me again with my third guest post for Karen Aicken over at Crazy 4 Challenges blog. HERE

Today's task was a sketch and here is the sketch to inspire a card.

And I felt like stamping a colouring when I made this one so here is my card.

For this card I used a stamp set called Krazy Kats from Penny Black

And the frame was an Elizabeth Craft Designs frame

The papers and flowers are from my stash.

That's three down and one to go on this weekly challenge for me
in June and I hope you have enjoyed these challenges along with me.
Its been great fun.  I will be back next Saturday with my last challenge card.

Double Digits!

Caiden hits double digits tomorrow and I suddenly realised that I had not made a card for him yet.  Racking my brains for an idea and I thought I would just make a card using a printed image from a game that he likes.

Sometimes using the printer is the best way to get an image, especially for the ever growing boys, got to make sure its current and what they love and what better than using an image
from a game they love.  As much as I wanted to use my stamps and dies I wanted to make a card that he would love and here you are!

C4C339 Make it MASCULINE. Guest Post

Hello me again with my second guest post for Karen Aicken over at Crazy 4 Challenges blog. HERE

Todays task was : Make it MASCULINE. Most of us need a masculine card or two in our stashes so let’s see a masculine project this week.

And as you may remember I challenged myself to use the Karen Burniston Hanging Charm Pull Tab as well for 3 of the 4 challenges this month, just for fun really as I am loving this die so much!

Once the tab is pulled you can see Honey the bear looking very
pleased with himself for catching this big fish.

The card lies totally flat for posting it is no problem at all for a regular envelope.

:)  Honey's face says "what now"  LOL

used on the card can be purchased from Crafts U Love.

I hope you are enjoying the weekend, I am working today (Saturday) but
going to a special barbecue to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday afterwards.
Lots of celebrations in the UK this weekend.  Whatever you are doing have fun!

Hi Bloggers, what a lovely day it is here in Surrey today, I have done a bit of house work so I thought that I would blog a card I made last night.

I used the bunny from the Baby Charms set, as well as the Bunny
there is a onsie, dummy and umbrella

Here is a visual list of the items I used to make it :

I will be back soon with another card soon.

Saturday, June 4

Delighted to be invited to be guest for Crazy 4 Challenges Blog again and this time its Karen Aiken over at Altered Scrapbooking who invited me :)

Its Karen's Month for choosing the challenges and this Saturday it is : Make it FLORAL. Add a single flower, add a full bouquet or even make a flower shaped card - let’s see some blooms on your projects this week.

And here is my card :

I made this card for my Mum as it was her Birthday Yesterday  and my Mum loves flowers.

I used the Karen Burniston Hanging Charm Pull card for the 3d mechanism and the
Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Confetti Flowers

The Maggie Holmes Confetti Flowers dies were a special order from
Crafts U Love, not on their website but you might be able to order if you
give them a call/email.

Mum loved her card and loved the colours.  And I really enjoyed making this
card for her.  The Karen Burniston Hanging Charm Pull Card can be used to animate
so many different things and as a challenge to myself I have decided that during this
challenge month I am using the HCPC for three of the four cards I have designed :)

Junkyard Garden and Daisy Mae

We've been busy this bank holiday weekend clearing the rubbish and old stuff from the garden and making our junkyard garden using pallets and tires.  Keeping the costs down by using junk but hopefully making a garden that looks taken care of.  We are not finished yet. And something major needs to happen to the lawn but it's a million times better than it was and we have a full skip out front to prove it.

On a personal level it's been a tough few weeks with one of my cats.  She ended up having surgery on her thyroid and having many teeth out. It's been an emotional rover coaster.  Pleased  she survived the operations and like only animals can, she's bounced back remarkably.  The photo collage  shows Daisy's freedom.  She is very much an outdoor cat but had to of course stay in post operation.  Thankfully it was only 4 days but it was a long 4 days!
