Missing it, times two.

We've all done it.  Moaned about the school activities like book day or Easter bonnet but truth be known we'll miss it once it's gone. Once the kids leave primary there's  no more of that "fun" stuff. Replaced quickly with homework time tables  and hormones!

I loved Caiden's bonnet  this morning and I missed Harveys.  That's not to say having them grow up is all  bad. Just different in a non fluffy chick kinda way.

Make 'em laugh part 2

Today's card is the second for my Make 'em Laugh challenge for the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge Team and last time I post I said I didn't have a clue what I was going to do.  However, I do have a fair few cards I need to make at the moment so I wanted to make sure it was a card that I could use.  I chose to use the Funny card for a card for one of Harveys school friends who is having a party this Friday (inset).  Myself and my good friend Suzie Q (who got  frantic phone message - I need your help, my brain has stopped working) and we tried to think of a funny card suitable for a 12 year old boy.   Suzie mentioned frog and from there I used the trusty google to give me a helping hand... I saw this picture......

And it immediately made me laugh... and thus my card was born!!

Meet Gangnam Hoppy!

If I were to make it again I would use the background layer for Hoppy's legs and arms to make
them stand out a bit more.  But all in all I am very happy with it and I hope that Harvey's friend
might smile on opening it.

March Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

I am back with another Karen Burniston Designer Challenge and this months challenge is "Make 'em Laugh! - Funny cards for any theme"

I chose Buster and the Rectangle Pull card for my main images and decided that I would put the main words inside and not use the spinner part.

I imagined what the mind of a dog would think and decided on this funny "What if" pondering....

I cut Buster from the cream card and used a dark paper on top to make him stand out.  Some mismatched googly eyes and some markings with a white chalk pen and I was pleased with how Buster turned out.

I used Buster from Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Craft Designs
Rectangle Pull Card from Elizabeth Craft Designs
Paper is Kaisercraft Furry Friends Collection
Alphabet from Elizabeth Craft Designs
Sparkly Dots from DOcrafts/Papermania

All from Crafts U Love

The inside I show off the "funny" and I won't explain it... I hope you can "get" the joke!!

I will be back tomorrow with another funny card... what that will be is as much as surprise to me
as it will be you as I haven't made it yet!

Hope you have a lovely Monday. One of the best days of the week for me :)

Pimp my Big Shot Plus

We got the Big Shot Plus in stock at Crafts U Love and I brought mine home yesterday.  Gorgeous A4 design and a pleasing to the eye Grey and White colour scheme.... However I am far from a Grey and White person and I knew even before I got it that I would "Pimp up" my machine.

I decided to go for the Starter kit, it had a nice selection of dies that I felt weren't too similar to what I had already.  And armed with a selection of vinyl I used the starter kit dies to decorate my Plus... I am going to have to think of a name for her... I cant just keep calling her Big Shot Plus.. not sure how she feels being a "Plus model" LOL  much like her owner!! :)

So here is the first photo of her.... I used butterflies, flowers and leaves from the Starter kit.

I posted the picture on my Facebook page and everyone was really kind saying they liked it but there were a few that said  "Where are the owls"?

So back to the drawing board and a couple of additions, namely Poppy the owl from Karen Burniston and my Plus size friend is finished!!

I hope you have been inspired to maybe "Pimp up" your plus sized Sizzix machine :)

Poppy the Owl and the Sizzix Starter Plus Starter kit (or machine on its own)
are both in stock at Crafts U Love.

Happy Mothers day.

Here is the first mothers day card I made.  This one was for my Mum. The other  one for Darrens  Mum I can't show until she receives  it in Spain. (Urgh. Late as usual)

The hedgehog is  Penny Black  stamp and the tag dies are Elizabeth  craft  designs  and Karen Burniston Tag pivot.

I've used other dies  here and there to decorate.

I hope you've had a lovely Mothers Day. I have.  Both my boys made me a card and we went out for lunch with my Mum and celebrated Darrens birthday  and Mothers  Day too.

Happy Birthday Darren

It's my husbands  birthday today and true to form there  I was making his card last night. I made him this fun box card using a new die from Spellbinders. It's a uk exclusive. And if course you can't miss Buster in all his party  finery. This adorable dog, props and grass are all  from Karen Burniston /Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I love how these cards have the wow factor  but are simple to make and fit flat into an envelope.

Woodware Daisy

I made this card for the Create and Take at Crafts U Love the other week but I forgot to post it here.

I was really pleased how this turned out.

As well as the Woodware stamp
I used the Taylored Expressions Burlap Embossing Folder and some
Papermania Glitter Domes - all items from Crafts U Love

A pretty card - wedding acceptance.

A friend asked me to make a special  wedding acceptance card for her.  Other then that the design was up to me.

Here is what i came up with.

I used the Karen Burniston  Heart Pivot to make  the main card.

Bit of a short  write up.  I've been meaning to put this on for a couple of days but just been so busy.  See you soon
