End of year Ramblings

So here we are again, New Years Eve.  All in all 2010 not a bad year but here's an even better year for all of us in 2011.

This afternoon I picked my Mum up and we went back here to have some new years nibbles and play some games ect, it was lovely.  Kids enjoyed showing Nanny how good they were on the XBox game that she had brought for Caiden for Christmas.  We played old fashioned games, a word game which was good fun.  They played a beetle game with a dice, which I missed out on as I was getting  all the food ready.

Salad, Ham, Chicken Nuggets, Crisps, Vol au Vents, Sausage Rolls and the most lovely (if I might say so)  Cupcake that we made yesterday but decorated today.  The sponge was lovely and the topping... well I will let you see yourself.  We made it using the Big Top cake mould from JML.  Didn't turn out as big as expected but non the less it was very tasty, and to be honest it was big enough.  We had a slice each (there were 6 of us) and we still have half the cake left.

This morning I managed to make a couple of little projects showcasing the SAB (Sale-a-Bration but too long winded to type that so from now on will be refered to as SAB)   sets.

I hope you all have a lovely New Years eve xxx

Another digi card

Here I have used one of the Emerald Faeries for another card.  I have teamed it up with three colour of paper from the Stampin Up! pastel paper stack, beautiful aren't they?  I have also used Stampin' Up! crystals, words and the flower is from one of the SALE-A-BRATION stamp sets.  Added a little bit of the yummy bakers twine and I was all done.

Changes

For those regular visitors to my blog can see there have been a few changes here.  Changed the design, changed the little tick boxes below to be more specific, ie not my thing, like or really like for those of you that want to leave a quick response to a card but not post a comment.  Re the comments, I did have it off moderation for a while but I am getting daily spam messages so I have popped it back on moderation, so don't panic if you don't see your messages right away.

I have already another card to share.... but I will save it for tomorrow.  Lets hope this is a sign of things to come :)  I have enjoyed looking at challenge blogs and making cards to fit those challenges.

B LO G    C A N D Y    T I M E !

I am thinking a little end of year candy might be in order.  I have 2 brand new ink pads in 2 of the newest colours.  CRUMB CAKE and PACIFIC POINT, which are very nice light brown and a beautiful blue.

To be in with a chance to win this candy please leave me a message on this post and let me know what you would like to see on my blog for 2011 - if you want to post about this give away feel free, if you want to subscribe again feel free but there is no obligation to do either.

I will leave this candy open until midnight 1st January 2011 and then I will get a winner drawn in the morning.

On a roll

Another card already!

Here is another card for a challenge blog, this time is the Saturday Challenge blog
and their challenge is "In the Farmyard".

Also a "everything goes" challenge at  Allsorts Challenge Blog.

I googled "cow image" then clicked on Clipart and then found this image at www.timtim.com which is a colouring website.  Then googled Vegetable background and found the paper background.  The wording is an old Elzybells stamp from years back and the die cuts are the labels from a Nestie set and a Nellies Frame (the hearts) from work.

I coloured it with Copics and added some Olive Flock.

Hope you like it, it was fun to make. :)

Last card of the year?

With 2011 fast approaching I think 2010 has been by far the quietest blogging year for me :(  Not really happy about that but that's life for now.  What will 2011 bring for us all?  For me it will bring the realisation that my little man isn't little any more and that he will be in full time school!  GULP!  More work for me, which is good.  Not sure what direction to take my Stampin Up! up or down a gear I ponder all the time.  Some days I am going to plan high heights others I am not sure, that's a personal decision I will have to decide on as the year goes by.

Anyway, bit heavy for a Tuesday evening.  Here is a card I made, and I made it using quiet a few new bits and pieces.

The main image is a digital stamp from Debs Creations.  I fell in love instantly with this design.  The embossed flowers were a new embossing folder I got from work.  The pennant die is from Lil' Inker as is the stitching stamp.  The THANKS is a stamp that is part of a set that is in a promotion called SALE-A-BRATION from Stampin Up! and I will be posting all about this fantastic offer very very soon.  The bakers Twine was from a seller on Etsy, so as you can see a real mixed up card!  I hope you like it.

I coloured her using my Copics (yes I have copics!)  still building up my colours.  Thanks to my good friend and working buddy Treacle I have the much longed for E000 pen which she kindly gave me for Christmas :)

I am planning on entering some more challenges next year, so thought I would start it off right now... This is entered for the THANKS challenge on http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/

That's all for now, hope you like the card.

Happy Christmas all

We have had one very very excited boy in the house and the other not as but occasionally shouting "its Christmas eve".  So Harvey said he was going to bed at 2pm... er no!  he went before Eastenders so not too bad.

I hope you all have fantastic Christmas time celebrations and enjoy whatever you do.

Here is a little crafty house display that I made for the table.

I dont do sewing

And there is good reason... I cant!! LOL  But for some reason I ended up making a Sock Monkey called "Booky" yesterday.  Now this was totally unplanned, hence using old odd socks.  He is fantastically rubbish, I am very proud of my poor attempt, it just add to his charm, all the hanging threads ect.

Here are 2 more Christmas cards.

This one is made using the Mimi stamp set from Penny Black

And this one was using Magnum my beloved feline friend from Ladybug Designs.  The snowflake stamps are Serene Snowflakes from Stampin up! and the punch is an old EK one.

Not long now

And are you ready??   I have done very well this year with the old pressie buying and feel in control, and its a good job too seeing as we have had our second dump of snow for December and now of course everything will be made much harder.

As the big snow wasn't here first thing yesterday I drove to work, it was a little snowy from the day before and icy but I got to work in good time and safe.  On the way into Charlwood village I managed to get up Stanhill which is the tricky road but all the while it was snowing harder and harder.  I got to work, called Paula the owner and she said to keep an eye on the snow.  About 20 minutes later I had to call to tell her it was chucking it down and I thought I had better go back home.  So the drive that took me 40 minutes there, took me 2 hours on the way back!

After a couple of cups of tea and then lunch I went out with the boys and we made our rather fun snowman.

Disco ball eyes, lego brick nose and a candy cane for his mouth.  This is standing outside our front door and greeting everyone in and out.  Darren came out a bit later and we had a family snowball fight which was good fun, no tears, not even from me who had a bra full of snow that slipped down my coat and tops!

Also been making a start, yes I said start! on my Christmas cards.

A few of these

a few of these

And two of these, one each for Harvey and Caidens teachers.  The kids break up Tuesday, but I think it highly unlikely that they will be back in this week with the snow.  Good job I took all the gifts in on Friday.

Still making a few more.  I expect they will be Happy New Year cards by the time I finish.

Have a good Sunday

Birthday Brother in Law

It is my Brother in Laws birthday today.  Something he doesn't want to be reminded of, but I told him is not that bad to be 39, I am there and its OK :)  Its next year we have to worry!

Here is the card I made him.  Not very manly but I had to ink up my new stamp that I brought at the sale where I work.  It was a TOTAL bargain and calling me to buy.  This is a shop sale only, so if you are able to pop into work then do go, there are lots of bargains to be had.

I used this delightful Happy Hopper stamp, my Cherish Martha Punch and some dotted paper, oh and the PARTY THIS WAY sign is from Stampin Up!

Tonight I have beavers and its craft night so I got to plan 2 craft ideas and the Leader another, as well as games too.  I do struggle as I want to make things I feel the kids will enjoy, as well as being affordable for the group when we have large numbers of Beavers and possible siblings staying too.  And it needs to be easy as well!

This is what they are making tonight.  A small bag of Reindeer Food and a Candy Cane Mouse

The weather outside is frightful!  And that is true, not just me singing Christmas songs :)  Snow has mostly melted but there are part of slush and ice on the roads (and paths) that are making it scary to drive out!  The main roads seem fine, but if you have to go off onto side roads then it really is quiet horrible.  I hope you are all taking care of yourselves.  Caiden was sad as he has missed his first full day at school.  Today would have been his trial and he was going to take packed lunch and stay til 3:30  It has been postponed until next Monday.  I wont know what to do with myself!  Within the few hours I did have this morning I managed to go  to town a pick up a copy of Eclipse and watch that by myself... Drool Drool.

Punch fun

Harvey and I used todays "snow day" as a chance to make a little punch art.  I have seen several elves around the blogs recently and was dying to make one and since I just got the large oval punch I could finally have a go.

Looks likes Harveys is doing a jig, it does make me smile :)
I used a LOT of punches for these, but thats the beauty of collecting the punches, once you
have them there are so many things you can make.

Enjoy!

Ros Davidson
Marie Shaughnessy were both ladies on who's blogs I saw these elves.
