It is my Brother in Laws birthday today. Something he doesn't want to be reminded of, but I told him is not that bad to be 39, I am there and its OK :) Its next year we have to worry!
Here is the card I made him. Not very manly but I had to ink up my new stamp that I brought at the sale where I work. It was a TOTAL bargain and calling me to buy. This is a shop sale only, so if you are able to pop into work then do go, there are lots of bargains to be had.
I used this delightful Happy Hopper stamp, my Cherish Martha Punch and some dotted paper, oh and the PARTY THIS WAY sign is from Stampin Up!
Tonight I have beavers and its craft night so I got to plan 2 craft ideas and the Leader another, as well as games too. I do struggle as I want to make things I feel the kids will enjoy, as well as being affordable for the group when we have large numbers of Beavers and possible siblings staying too. And it needs to be easy as well!
This is what they are making tonight. A small bag of Reindeer Food and a Candy Cane Mouse
The weather outside is frightful! And that is true, not just me singing Christmas songs :) Snow has mostly melted but there are part of slush and ice on the roads (and paths) that are making it scary to drive out! The main roads seem fine, but if you have to go off onto side roads then it really is quiet horrible. I hope you are all taking care of yourselves. Caiden was sad as he has missed his first full day at school. Today would have been his trial and he was going to take packed lunch and stay til 3:30 It has been postponed until next Monday. I wont know what to do with myself! Within the few hours I did have this morning I managed to go to town a pick up a copy of Eclipse and watch that by myself... Drool Drool.

What a weekend!
Friday I had a call to see if I could work at the Craft Barn. One of their tutors had injured their finger so couldnt demo. So they asked me to work the weekend. Now I of course couldnt do Saturday as I had the camp to do, but I was very pleased to have been asked and agreed to work Sunday. Even more thrilled when I learnt I would be demoing Stamping Bellas and their Huggabugs and Ketto stamps.
It was nice to see Kati again, I worked with Kati years ago when I worked at the Barn. And it was lovely to be so well looked after with bottles of water for each demo, a plate of sweets and lunch was provided too :) Much appreciated as often during these demos its hard to get a proper break.
Here are some of the cards I made whilst there today. All stamps and Papers are from The Craft Barn. The ribbons, flowers and buttons I added afterwards at home.

I have some more cards to share but I wont give you too many to look at at once :)
Beaver Day camp was on Saturday and I had to be there for 7;30 to help set up the camp. We all had a very fun day, hard work but lots of fun. The kids helped put up the tents, we did camp crafts like making pot stands, hammocks, nettle soup ect. Throughout the day we had lots to eat and drink. And lots of fun games too. We finally got home about 9pm after the songs around the camp fire were wrapped up and all kids dispatched to their parents.

So all in all a fab weekend, a tiring weekend. I got a headache now, and typically no tablets in the house!! So I am going to close this message and say speak later.
Here are a couple of photos of my boys... for legal reasons I cant share any pictures with the other kids in which is a shame I would have liked to show you around the camp site :)

Beaver Duties
I am sure you remember me saying but I have become an assistant leader at Harveys Beaver Colony. Two current assistant leaders are leaving and I was asked if I minded making a card for them. I was only too pleased to jump at the chance as I had something up my sleeve! I had been liasing with Pollycraft about comissioning a drawing for me depicting kids in beaver uniform and she finished this weekend and its FAB!!!

HUGE thank you to Paula from Pollycraft she took my brief and turned it into a great drawing that I will be using for numerous Beaver Projects I am sure.

so here are the 2 cards I made. For these I printed the black and white drawing out and coloured with promarkers. I used the doodlebug papers that I picked up at The Glitter Pot onn Saturday, they have leaves, frogs, bugs ect so a bit "outdoorsey". The small bag is an idea I thought of for presenting the badges to the beavers. For that one I colour the image prior to printing on the PC and then printed it out. If this idea is taken up I could be making 26 of these at a time so I needed to colour these before.
I am really pleased with these projects. Very simple but do the job.
