Last night we noticed Caiden was warm, then later in bed he was very hot, shivering and soooo hot, we gave him some medicine. This morning again he was very hot and we gave him some more. I arranged with a friend to meet her down the road and her walk Harvey to school as I didnt want to take Caiden in and out of the car. So after dropping Harvey to her I drove back home. Halfway there I looked in my rear mirror and to my horror Caiden was fitting. I was in a blind panic, thought I would drive to doctors as it was reasonably near. Anyway his fit stopped and he went limp, I paniced some more pulled over, a women walking to school noticed me (maybe the hysterical crying was a tip off something was wrong) and came over. We called ambulance and long story shortened, 7 hours later come home. Caiden had suffered a fevirale (sp) convulsion due to over heating, which again was due to virus. He has slept most of the day, he was waking up and then falling asleep 10 minutes later. He even stayed asleep as they milked the blood from his foot! They put a canular in but it wasnt pouring out so they literally had to squeeze his leg for every drop!
Blimey it was scary, I have a headache from no food or drink for almost the whole time. Darren came down at about 3pm with sandwich, drink ect, he had to go an pick H up from school and take time off work to look after Harvey.
I dont want to do this again.

Aw Caz sorry to hear about your son. I think alot of toddlers do this, Tyrrell did it in C&A here in Germany and we couldn't get anyone to understand us. Needless to say we took him outside and cooled him down and he was okay after an hour or so. But it is very scary , big hugs to you
I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. :(
Hope little Caiden is doing ok now.
Ohhh Caz, sorry to hear what all of you have been through today, my nephew suffered from the same thing when he was poorly. Hope you manage to get a bit of rest.

Caz
My daughter and son both had these convulsions, purely down to overheating. I was so worried and my daughter had to stay in hospital overnight so they could monitor her.
We were told to literally wash her down with damp flannels if she got poorly and her temperature started to go up, it seemed so cruel when all the poor little mite wanted was a cuddle.
Daughter now 28, son 26 both really fit and healthy will no ill effects.
Poor Caiden, I know how frightening it is, hugs to you all

Oh Caz ... that would have been sooo scary for you ... I hope Caiden gets better soon! {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}
Sending you huge hugs, you must have been so frightened. I went through the same when my son james, now 20, was 6 months old. In those days your own doctor came out at night, he rang and told me what to do whilst he was getting to me. Fill a bath with water and put him in it and keep pouring the water over his head, as its the quickest way to get their temperature down. I can still see him now, screaming, it was heartbreaking and we had to do it three times but it worked. He never had one again, hopefully this will be Caidens only convulsion. xxx
