Rectangle Pull Card - Karen Burniston - CHA 2015 Release

I am back with another card that I made for Karen and the CHA stand.

This time I used the Rectangle Pull card and used a Penny Black rubber stamp
to show off how lovely this die is.

How cute is this?  I mean how utterly horrible is this?
The little postage stamp is part of the same set and the paper clip is
from the Tag Pivot set - I LOVE all these little decorative additions
that make Karen's die sets so fab!

(OK Jan have I convinced you you
do not want this die and it makes horrible cards?)

This is the inside and it is hard to see how fun the inside can be with the little
pop out part for inside.  You'll have to take my word for it, the ideas for this
die are endless.  Die cuts and stamps both work well on this.
 This is a big runner
for my favourite die of this release. :)

These will be available for Pre Order soon at Crafts U Love

Buster - Karen Burniston CHA 2015 release

Sorry I did not post yesterday, I do not know where time goes at the weekends.  Work every Saturday and Sunday is the family day and we had a nice time making cakes and biscuits before I knew it it was bath and bedtime.

I am back today with another one of Karen Burnistons New die designs from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This is Buster and he is one of Karens new character dies.  Now, I have just come back from walking my own little dog Milo and with it being wet outside Milo could have done with a bath on his return.  Looks like Buster needed a bath too as made evident with the muddy prints all over the bathroom floor, rug and on the side of the bath too!  With a little snipping I managed to get Busters little legs up in the air, where he is having splish sploshing fun.  I have teamed Buster up with a new style of die the Pop Stand Bathtub.

Buster, the bath and all of Karens dies will be available to order from Crafts U Love in the UK at

I will let you know when they are either in stock or available for Pre Order.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back soon.

Wishing you well - Karen Burniston Tag Pivot Die

Christmas came early in my house with the arrival of the new Karen Burniston dies.  A collection of 17 Dies and there is bound to be something for everyone in this collection.  How I managed to concentrate on Christmas I really do not know and I was bursting to show anyone who would be interested but of course I had to keep it to myself until reveal time (which is now - whoop whoop!)

The collection consists of :

2 Accordion Albums - Star and Rectangle
1 Pull Card - Rectangle
1 Pivot - Tag Pivot
1 Pop it up - Adrondack Chair
2 Frame sets
2 Pop Stands - NEW to range - Eiffel Tower and Bathtub
2 Edges - fun beach scene and Paris Edges
2 Props sets - Pets and Snorkel
3 Cute characters - Rocky the crab, Buster the dog and Whiskers the cat
1 scene set - Palm Tree and Pail

I love them all for different reasons.

Myself and the Designers on Karens Challenge team were asked if we would possibly be able to make samples for CHA the trade show going on in America as we speak and of course we all obliged.  I made a few, not as many as I would have wanted but the time schedule was very tight and I wanted to post them so they got there in time.

Here is one card I made, this was not for CHA but actually a card I made for my Grandad in hospital.  Its not your usual Grandad card, but I used masculine colours and I thought the cat would bring a smile to his face.  Here I have used the Tag Pivot card.  So easy to use and as usual Karen has such amazing decorator dies in her sets and the three tags on this card are also dies in this set.

I will be back tomorrow with another card with another die.
Unfortunately the photos are not the best though, sorry!!

The new Karen Burniston will be available from Crafts U Love

Karen Burniston Challenge card Number 2 - December- Christmas

Hey bloggers and I am back with my second card for the designer challenge.

Now I know you are used to seeing some amazing things that Karen and the team do with Karen's dies. But this card is to show you how simple they can be, how simple does not need to be boring.  Simply pick a lovely patterned paper and use one of the pivot dies to take centre stage.

I have teamed the Katie label pivot with a cute Marianne stamp of a cuddling fox and owl.  By flipping the paper over and cutting strips you can easily make the inside and outside look great.  I added a metal heart charm and a simple punched circle.

I love traditional Christmas colours of Red and Green

So whether you want a simple card or to take on a more in depth card using one
of Karen Burnistons tutorials I think you will agree her dies make great cards.

All dies from Crafts U Love and the stamp too

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - December -

Its that time again, Challenge time. And its been a massive challenge just getting the cards done this month!!  Christmas is such a busy busy time.  Anyhow, back to the post, this time round the theme Karen has given us is Pop it Ups for every month! The Design Team will be creating Pop It Ups cards to fill the calendar for a year.

We all chose a month or two and I left mine late and I have April and December.  Today's card is for April 1st April Fools Day.  Something I used to enjoy as a kid and I still enjoy watching the news for their trick stories.  Who can remember the Spaghetti Tree??

I admit to being a bit stumped as to what to do, and I started with google and I found this blog post HERE   On this blog the lady created these fun chalkboard cards which started the old brain cogs going and that was the start!

This is Hoppy and Hoppy always makes me smile.  A cute little guy to send an April Fools Greeting. But I think he has more than his good looks up his green little sleeves.

Firstly the card does not open the way it usually would and when you do open it you are greeted with this.

On the left you can see a greeting (from blog above) and on the right you can see
a piece of mirror card (this is the super clear type from Mr Holtz)
It is hard to read in this photo but it reads

"Its April 1st
but you're no fool
This Note is to say
you are too cool"

You need to angle the card "just so" to read the text in the mirrored card.

I have used a stack of Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Craft Design dies
The main image is the Katie Accordion and I have followed Karen's brilliant Tutorial showing you how to create a Landscape Accordion.
You can see the tutorial one my previous posting.

I also used the grass from the Pop Up Bench
The edges of the album have been trimmed using the Ring Frame Edge
Hat and Bow tie are from the Props 1 set
And the heart from Spiral Pull card.

I do hope you like my card.

I will be back tomorrow night with another card for the challenge, an easier one
this time for December and Christmas, this will be the FIRST Christmas
card I have actually made! Shocking isn't it?!

All Dies are from Crafts U Love

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Part 3

Here is my all white card.  I used Honey the bear all in white to make this lovely snowy bear and sat him on the Lucy Label pop up.

Its a very simple card.  A bit of cutting, a bit of embossing and like before I have used a die to emboss into the card instead of cutting.

Looking at it now I feel it needs some ribbon or something but its too late to add, I am cooking the kids their tea and then  it is parent evening so I really can not add later either.

Maybe another day I might just Jazz it up a little bit :)  Make it more interesting.

A closer look

Karen Burniston November Challenge, Part 2

Good Morning,

I'm here with my second card for the November Challenge.

I was shocked at how little blue paper and card I have, I guess its not in my normal colour radar.

I used the Katie Pivot card for this one and a cute Penny Black stamp set

I absolutely LOVE this pivot, if I could chose but one Karen Burniston die
to keep this would be the one.

If you look closely you can see the flowers from the All Seasons Tree has been embossed
down the side of the card.  To Do this use the black embossing mat under the die
and run through the Big Shot machine, instead of cutting it will just press the design into the card.

The bunting is a cute little stamp set from Marianne Designs and its only 99p!!

Happy Birthday stamp is a Taylored Expressions stamp from a set.

I'll be back later today with my WHITE card for the challenge

Karen Burniston Challenge - November - Red, White or Blue

I am a day early with this one, but when you see my card you will know why I wanted to post it today.

This months theme is Red, White or Blue.  Making cards/creations that are mainly one of those colours.

Here is the first card, I have so far made a red and white card and if I get a chance I will get a blue one done too.  Today being Remembrance Sunday  and seeing the beautiful poppies at the tower of London on the news, we've been seeing red poppies everywhere.  A very moving and beautiful sight.  Sadly didn't make it to see them in real life but I have had many friends that did.

On this card I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs/Karen Burniston Lucy Label
pop up for the main stage.
Stamped onto that the Penny Black Poppy Fields.  This is an older design (2005)

I coloured most of the image in grey and gave a burst of colour
just colouring the one red one that he is holding.

With today in mind I am saying Thank you to all who gave so much
in order that we could all live our lives as we do now.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them

Busy days

Its a busy time for me. Work is always busy with the run up to nec and I've been making a few little samples for their displays.   Then I always do a littke Christmas take at a local school.  Do no sooner had i finished for show i need to start for table.
Here are a couple of samples i made recently
The animal boxes are Taylored Expressions Sack its.  And the rest are Elizabeth Craft Designs and of course the very talented Karen Burniston designs.
All available from Crafts U Love

I saw a tag like this on the Elizabeth Designs Blog.  I believe it was
one of the other amazingly talented designers that came up with this
tag book idea and I thought that it showcased the tags so well that I would get
this made up.  Could I be able to remember who it was that made the original I would link it up.

A couple of other little projects that I made using the tags dies

And a bookmark  "read it, read it".

Sorry they are not great photos but it was all last minute rushing!!
