I love hugs!

Harvey loves snuggle nuzzles.... and I wanted to give one lucky person a hug by way of thanking you all for bearing with me, through the laughs, moans, cards and chatter. I have a spare "huggybella" stamp here. It was one I ordered from USA and then found one in a UK store and couldnt wait for my post to arrive! LOL Over 35000 hits!! WOW thats a hug in itself :)

You can see the design here for anyone that has been living under a rock! LOL

Anyway, how do you get it? Leave a comment, yep just one per person to your favorite book as a child... the name and a little about it... why this? Well Harvey loves Snuggle Nuzzles, its about a little sheep who's mummy has to go away, all the other animals try to keep the sheep happy by giving it beeky goosey pecks, snorty horsey huddles, aquishy piggy squeezes ect but of course he just LOVES his mummys snuggle nuzzles the best!! Awww cute! I love to read it to Harvey as of course I get to snuzzle nuzzle my little big boy ;)
I will draw a name for the winner Sunday English time at 9pm - Dont forget the clocks change!! Any country can enter.
Hugs

Oh great question (and great bella too!)! I still love children's books now :)

As a child, my favourite book was one called Spiney the Hedgehog by Graeme Sims. I had a thing about hedgehogs, and I adored the illustrations. I think I partly liked it because I've always liked stories with a slightly dark edge to them.

If anyone is vaguely interested, I posted about this book on my book blog earlier in the year - here.

Thats lovely of you Caz....my favourite book as a child was The Owl who was afraid of the dark...the title says it all really...a frightened baby owl meets loads of different people at night who tell him why they love the dark and in the end...well that would spoil it!LOL...got an abridged copy in the house now it's DD not as good as the full book but still good.

OOh my favourite is The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton. I used to love the tales from Moonface and Silky, Saucepan Man, and the different lands that used to come to the top of the Magic Faraway Tree.!!! Still got the books but my boys not really into it!

Aww that sounds like a lovely book Caz. My absolute favourite when I was little was a nursery rhyme book with poems you don't see these days (yes I know I AM old!!). There was one about a little girl who ran away with the gypsies and I used to worry about the little girl (I was only 5 or 6!) and then there was one about a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead, when she was good, she was very, very good and when she was bad she was horrid!! I used to think that was about my sister!!!!

I would love to give Huggybella a home, fingers crossed!!

Your blog is fantastic, no wonder you get so many hits. Mine was more of a series of books, I loved the Secret Seven books by Enid Blyton. They were so exciting and I always wanted to go off and solve a mystery after reading them. Progressed onto Famous Five and Nancy Drew and I still love a good thriller now. Hubby worries about what I'll do if he ever gets on my nerves too much :o)

Wow, well done on the blog hits, it's a fab feeling to know people are reading isn't it?

My favourite book as a child was Enid Blyton's The Magic Faraway Tree. I loved most of the Enid Blyton books, but the Faraway Tree was special. So many wonderful characters, so many magical lands. I could well and truly get lost in that book, I loved it (and still do, shhhh!)

This is a lovely idea as everyone must have a special book or character from their childhood, i certainly do.
I adore Beatrix Potter stories, my favourite as a child was Peter Rabbit, i loved the fact that he wore clothes and i adored his blue jacket with brass buttons and the fact he never did as he was told.As a child i imagined all rabbits wore clothes and i used to tip the watering can upside down to see if he was in there,he never was but he seemed so real to me.lol
my love for these stories is still with me today with the full selection of books and tapes, and various cuddlies, china and of course rubber stamps.:)

Great card caz and i enjoyed reading about Harvey's 'snuggle nuzzles' :)

My favourite books as a child was The Folk of The Faraway Tree, I always wanted to climb the tree and see what was at the top and meet the people on the way up, especially Moon Face

Hi Caz, congrats on 35,000 hits! My fav book as a child was 'Don't forget the bacon!' It was about a boy who went shopping for his mum and got things a bit mixed up and of course as the title suggests he forgot the bacon! My daughter has it now (my old copy) and loves reading it too. Thanks for the chance to win.

Hi Caz!
This is so cute!! My favorite book as a child was "Little House on the Prairie". And the one I loved about this book was when "Pa" would bring home peppermint sticks for the Laura and Mary at Christmas. They'd describe them and I'd want one too!!LOL!!!

Caz, Well done on the number of hits. My favourite book, which I still have but is well battered from 4 of us all reading it is How the Mole got his pockets. It is about a mole who collected things and then needed somewhere to put them. He decided he needed trousers with pockets and the story is how he got other animals to help make the fabric and then the trousers - maybe why that was why I went on to enjoy needlework!

That is Awesome, Caz.....Ummm my favorite and yes now its a movie was Charlotte's Web. We all know about Charlotte right? Well I remembered when I first read it and I felt so bad for Wilbur because I thought he was going to killed and used for bacon, lol, but then felt really sad because his best friend Charlotte was the one who passed. Now when I saw the first original movie the cartoon one, I would cry my eyes out all the time, my mom and dad would console me and tell me that they would be ok, lol...
You can imagine how thrilled I was when they came out with the newest version with Julia Roberts (my fav actress) as Charlotte and all those wonderful actors.
Well thats my version, hope you all had fun going down memory lane.....take care all and good luck to all of us....

Hi Caz
Congrats on sooo many hits and thanks for the chance to win some blog candy!

My fave books as a child were a series of books called Mallory Towers. It was about a girls boarding school and the adventures and fun they had. Made my own school very boring in comparison!

Loved the Magic Farawar tree too, Ooohh the memories of curling up with a good book as a child!

Well I have to agree with a few of the other girls, and say Enid Blyton's The Magic Faraway Tree, I loved all these stories, loved Nancy Drew and the Secret Seven and had all of these. I had a great set from US but can't remember what they were called now, how sad am I. I have them in my loft though for Beth to read when she gets a couple years older. They all had girls names, like Suzanna etc.

Oh I don't own Huggybellas, how great

I really can't think of just one book really. I had so many favorites. However, I've found books for my kids that have their name in the title...No David (and other ones in that series) and Russell the Sheep. Anyone know any for McKinley tho? Hmm.

As I got older tho, my favorites were the Boxcar Children and American Girl books.

Thanks Caz

Hey, Caz.

Unfortunately I wasn't read to as a child but I did read everynight to my own children.

A favorite book of both of them is "Goodnight Moon". It's a nice bedtime story that is about a young rabbit trying to postpone going to sleep. He says goodnight to everything he sees. It was a fun and relaxing activity as my young children and I would say goodnight to the same things the rabbit was in the book. When it was over, it was night night time.

I so miss those days. My girls are now teenagers and still love Goodnight Moon :) We still have the book and everytime they see it they always exclaim how much they loved it being read to them.

Congrats on the huge number of hits. It doesn't surprise me. You have great art on your site.

HuggyBella is one I actually do not own and is on my wish list.

Thanks for the opportunity of blog candy :)

My favorite children's book is the Polar Express. It is all about "believing" in the magic of Christmas. A year or two ago, they made it into a movie and that is wonderful for children as well. Now I share the wonderful story with all of my neices and nephews. I just love it!

What a nice treat to share with your readers! The funny thing is, is that I made cookies this morning. The recipe that I used was a cookbook from Scholastic - one that I bought with my own money back in FRIST GRADE... Now I am not telling how old I am, but I can tell you that it was a VERY long time ago! I was thinking to myself that this is my absolute favorite kids book of all time...if anyone lays a hand on it in my house they better be careful with it! I learned how to make a different kind of cookie each month with it...one recipe for each month...I still love the book and cherish the memories that it brings back!

My favorite book as a child was "Hubert's Hair Raising Adventures" by Bill Peet. It was about a very vain lion. All of his beautiful mane got burned off by a spark from a campfire and the other animals in the jungle help him to collect some crocodile tears which are supposed to regrow his hair. It turns out to be a little tooooo successful - with very comic results!

Congratulations on hitting 35,000 hits!

So sweet of you to give your extra Bella away. Congratulations on passing 35000 hits, that's amazing. I love looking at your cards. I love the penguin ones.
Sadly I don't remember reading much as a child but I have always made such my children had plenty of books to read. One of my favorites I would try and read to my kids was Love you Forever by Robert N. Munsch. I say try and read because more times than not I would tear up and not be able to finish. I just think it's a wonderful story that shows that no matter how much your children grow, you will always need them and they'll always need you.

I love Heidi. Even now when I see a movie or documentary about the Swiss Alps I wonder if Heidi is still there waiting for me. I would love to visit that part of the world and walk where she once played.

I haven't seen your blog until now but wow!! Very nice cards! I just wanted to mention that my favorite books were all of the Dr. Suess books. I'll never forget the colors that were in those books and the crazy illustrations. In some way, I think they helped liven my imagination right into adulthood. It was such an interesting world that Dr. Suess created and I loved visiting.

I remember my Dad reading to us the magic far away tree and vaguegly (can't sp!) remember some of the characters. I also used to like the cat in the hat books by Dr. Suess. I also remember dad reading the famous five to my brother and I and as I got older I enjoyed Nancy Drew and then Cristopher Pike horror/thrillers!! So bit of a collection from me!! I can't recall a particular favourite though! Love the stamp! Thanks Caz! x

I Loved to read as a child and still do. I had many favorites but the one that sticks out right now is Harold and the purple crayon. He had such imagination and I loved to read those to my kids when they were little. And of course I'm glad to see Curious George has come back in the past few years. SIGH I'm sensing a pattern here I guess I liked inquisitive stories. :) Have a wonderful day. Ami in Indiana who is having a beautiful fall day.

Wow, congratulations on all the hits! I have always loved to read. And I still adore children's books. As a young girl, I loved all the Black Beauty stories. Couldn't get enough of stories about horses, and really animals in general. One of my favorite children's books now is called Parts by Tedd Arnold. A friend gave it to me a few years ago after we were in a car accident and I felt like my whole body was just falling to pieces. The story is about a little boy who things he's falling apart because he loses pieces of hair when he brushes it, his tooth falls out, dry skin flakes off - it's hilarious. At the end his parents tell him it's all normal...

The Velveteen Rabbit is my VERY VERY favorite!! I loved when the skin horse talked to the stuffed rabbit about becoming real...and I think it speaks to children who have an "imaginary" friendship with their 'lovey'... when you are loved so much and so deeply, you ARE real...if only to that child. Love is magical and I think this story illustrates that beautifully.
Thanks for asking!!

Love your blog, congrats on all those hits!!! My favorite book when I was a child was a collection of Hans Christian Anderson's stories. It was a large book that had beautiful illustrations. One of my favorite books that I read to my children was Jan Brett's "The Mitten". Again, I loved the illustrations. It's about a white mitten lost in the snow and lots of wild animals crawl into it to get warm before the child finds it again.
