Karen Burniston NEW Elizabeth Designs Dies

I am very lucky to be part of Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge group and even luckier to have received the collection for me to join in all the challenges .  They arrived Tuesday, or at least would have if the postman would have left them with a neighbour, but they decided to take them back to the Post Office for the night. This on top of the night with no sleep with my little Milo sick made me a very sad girl.  But Wednesday morning 7am I was second in line at the collection office and almost skipped down the road with my little box in hand :)

If you have not seen the new collection you can see them all HERE  They are available end January and you can pre order from Crafts U Love.

Now the first one I have used is the beautiful Heart Pivot Die.  This is a wafer thin die, this whole collection is and the whole collection of Pivot, accordions and Pop It Up! dies fit nicely in a small space. Amazing! I love it.

This is the whole collection!!  That is over 70 dies in this pile.  Can you imagine the space that the old format dies would have taken up??

Your dies will come packaged in Elizabeth Craft Designs packaging but mine
a pre release samples were un-packaged and I put mine in these wallets to keep them safe.

So onto my first card.  As soon as I saw the Heart Pivot I thought it would work
wonderfully with my new Woodware Key Bear stamp.

Along with the Heart Pivot I used the Agatha Edges.  I love this set too.  A lovely set of three edges, two that actually cut the card and one beautiful flourish..  The BEST thing about the Pivots are that you can use them on any size card.  Long, square, short, rectangle.  As long as it actually fits you can use it.  They honestly are soooooo easy!

Here is the inside.  I have stamped the bottom of the card with a
love heart stamp. And you can just about make out that I have added the key from the
Heart Pivot set too.

Sorry for the quality of the Photos, my phone has died and these
were taken on the web cam, I had hoped it might be ok for me to use
instead of camera or phone but I don't think the quality is good enough.

I had hoped to get another card made tonight but I had a bunting order to finish so I just ended up finishing this one that I started last night.

Until next time xx very soon

My first cards of 2014

I really am going to try to blog more and share more cards with you.  It looks like I made almost no cards last year but in truth I made a lot more but it seems easier to just pop them on my facebook account and it takes time to save and share on here but I am going to try and do that.
So in a start on trying to share more here are a few cards I have made lately.

This Penny Black card was made for Crafts U Love for their weekly Create and Take.  Now at work we are mega mega busy and didn't have time to make a card at work so I said I would make it this week but it had to be sometime I could make easy and in my style so of course I had to use Penny Black.  You can get full details of what I used on their blog.  www.craftsulove.blogspot.co.uk

Here I have used the same kitty on a bag that I made using the
We R Memory Keeper Gift Bag Punch Board

Next are a couple of Accordion cards that I made for birthdays, The first up is
the card I made for my niece Danielle who was 19.

I used the Cottage Cutz Mr Snuggle bear for the main image.
I love this bear as his arms are separate so you can post him holding
anything

Another accordion card, this one is for one
of my boys friends birthdays.

On this one the main images are from http://www.purpleoniondesigns.com/

The amazing accordion die is from Karen Burniston
This one is from her Sizzix line.  She has 3 more amazing accordion
designs coming out in a couple short weeks.  Crafts U Love will be
putting pre orders on their website soon for any pre orders.

That's all I have to share right now.  I am eagerly waiting my Designer Challenge
dies so I can get playing with the Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Craft Designs and I can't wait to share with you all what I make :)

Three New Accordion Dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs!

The Accordion Album is one of Karen Burniston's most popular designs and I'm excited to introduce three new shapes - a circle, an oval and a fancy label. Plus, all of the new die sets will come with the accessory dies included.  Optional add-on purchases are the mitered decorator frames and you can see how those work in the preview Video.

VIDEO HERE

I love the accordion dies, time after time I grab this as my starting point for cards, its a WOW card that is for sure, with very little effort.

Little Boxes and Happy New Year!

Firstly let me wish you all a fabulous 2014.   2013 had been quiet a good year for us, nothing too bad happened.  Mostly happy and mostly healthy.  Lots of wonderful memories with my boys and family.  Now I am not going to promise anything but I hope that I will blog a lot more this year than last.  Unfortunately time being in short supply I tend to pop my bits on Facebook and forget to share with you all on here.

Since I finished work before Christmas I had grand crafting plans... non of which really came to anything. Only thing I have really made is a stack of boxes using my Christmas pressie, the We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board.  Phew that is a mouthful.

Here are the boxes I have made.  One of each size printed on the board.  Not decorated, just made the basic box.  And I will be demonstrating the whole WRMK Punch Board range at Crafts U Love sometime in the future.  I will let you know when we get the date settled.

The one above shows you all the boxes listed on the punch board
you can make other sizes which I am trying to work out.  I have managed two
other sizes so far.

This one shows you a picture of some of the stuff the other boards make.
There are 5 boards in total.

December Designer Challenge for Karen Burniston

I can't believe its that time again, only seems the other day I did the November challenge!

I admit to being a little over whelmed with all crafting I have had these past couple of weeks.  A school fair table where I sold Snowman Soup, Reindeer Poop and other bits and bobs.  All made in the few hours between kids bedtime and my own over the few weeks previous.  Brownies craft  where I had a lovely time making the Sizzix House with approx 25 Brownies!and also preparing Beaver crafts where this Wednesday I will be making lolly pop stick snowmen for them to decorate and hand on their trees.  I still have orders for Snowman soup/Reindeer Poop and a sheep for the beavers church service this Sunday.  I am getting there and hope to soon start on my Christmas cards!  yes I did say start.. not one made yet.

Anyway back to the job on hand.  This month Karen was really kind and opened up the anything goes theme.  Trying to showcase the vast array of Pop N Cuts that Karen has designed we were able to choose different designs.  I picked the LOVE insert and there were many ways I could have gone with the love. Valentines, baby, friend or anything or anyone you care about.  But seeing that we are all in the throes of Christmas Madness I would share some "Christmas Love".

I hope you can see the LOVE in the middle of the card as it seems to be
a bit dark in the photo.  The Love insert can be brought HERE if you are in the UK
I used the Penny Black "Fairy Wishes" stamp and a Woodware
punch to create the look that the fairy is standing in a Holly Wreath
and spreading her "Christmas Love" everywhere.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at this card.  I enjoyed making it as I have every card I have
made with the amazingly talented designer friends Karen Burniston has on board.
If you are on facebook please make sure to like Karen's Designer page to hear all
about what is happening with her and her die designs old and new.

November Designer Challenge - Karen Burniston

This months Designer Challenge was a bit of a squeeze.  Long time readers will remember that I do a school table every Christmas and I have been madly making reindeer poop, snowman soup  at every moment I could get.  So today's "day off" goal was to get at least one card made for Karen's November Challenge.  This month the Designer Challenge (still pinch myself little old me is part of this awesome gang) was to make a card with

Crafting RED with Stitched Framelits

Thrilled I managed two cards this morning, had a fun time with making cards
and watching one of my favourite films "legends of the fall"  Some people may like
to listen to music, some silence but I love to put a "me" film on.  One I don't usually
get a chance to watch.  Halfway in I wasn't sure this tearjerker would be good
to watch in fear of it being red with tear drops but I had my sleeve on hand to wipe those drops away (and believe me there were many)

This card above was made using the Labels and Stitched Frames
and some very old Stampendous Stamps that fitted inside the
frames just lovely.  I love the stitching look it gives.
The snowflake was again a very old punch and the wording was
a cute little wording from Purple Onion Designs.
A lovely piece of bright red backing paper made sure it fitted both
RED and FRAMES

This cute card is actually a 8 x 8 card - the image is
I love how the little Caroling snowmen fitted inside the largest
of the Sassy Labels  this is a unique shape and I thought it
looked kind of like a bow when placed on the centre of the card like this.
and the Noel is a Karen Burniston die from one of her decorator sets

All in all a good morning and now for a few hours of housework before I need to collect the boys.

Thanks for stopping by. xx

Happy Hedgehog

Long before my love of owls I loved and still love hedgehogs!  This adorable little hedgie is a die from Cottage Cutz.  This is the only Cottage Cutz I own right now, they are beautiful dies, some of them have lots and lots of details, some of them are hard work but so worth it when made.  This little fellow has only three cuts to marry up, the face, body and nose.

Lot of different dies used on this card : Sizzix Flip It for the main card, Marianne Tree for the leafy sprigs, WoodWare Punch for the flowers, Cottage Cutz Hedgehog and Queen & Co Twinkle Goosebumps for the centre of the flowers.

Karen Burniston - October challenge part 2

Here is the second offering for the October challenge - I had hope maybe one more today but not feeling the best today so this will have to do.

Once again I have used the Sassy Pop N Cuts and couple of decorator dies too.  I cheated a bit and teamed it up with a Stampendous Snowman that I happened to have already cut and coloured :)

This jolly fella looks like he is just plonked in the middle of the card, with the
pop n cut cut in the clear material you cant see how he is attached.

Here is what I used :  Crafts U Love

Karen Burniston Sizzix - Pop n Cuts Sassy 3d

Karen Burniston Sizzix - Banners and Borders

Hoping you enjoyed my two cards.  xx

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - October - Clear Creations

Hi Bloggers

This month playing along with the Karen Burniston Designer challenge and the brief was "Clear Creations aka Defying Gravity"  that is any card creations using the ever growing collection
of dies from Karen and using a clear materials to look as those something is just "there" and not
actually on something.  I have made two pop and cuts designs both using the New Sassy Pop n
Cut and some stamps too.

I will share one today and one tomorrow. :)

Today's offering was made as I said using the Sassy Shape Pop n Cut which I cut from the
packaging from some other Sizzix dies, I never throw this stuff away, its handy for cards like this.
This plastic is strong so you do need to crease on the crease lines very firmly and it will need
a bit of a squidge down but I must say using this stuff means that the card sits lovely open and
would be nice to display.  I used the clear material to cut the pop and cuts base to sit the bee
hive on and I also suspended the buzzy bees on some clear strips to look like they are flying!

Those eagle eyed Karen Burniston fans will notice that I have used
two other dies from her collection.  I will link all the materials I used to my
favourite UK Pop N Cuts Supplier Crafts U Love

 and from Sizzix
Label Trellis
The stamps are an old Stampin Up! set from my stamping stash.

What a fun card!

Winter house.

My second  pop n cuts from Karen Burniston and sizzix.
This one is using the house. Sooo cute to use.

My next house will be a Halloween one.  So keep your eyes peeled.

Pop n cuts fun

I have been playing with Karen Burniston's pop n cuts again.  These are from the snippets collection.  All available on line from www.craftsulove.co.uk
The clown was made using the sassy pop n cut die and matching thinlet dies. As soon as I saw the shape I thought of a bow tie.  I used punches to create the clowns face and hair.
Having problems with this post so will pop other card on another post.

Made me giggle making this card!  I hope it put  a smile on your face?
