What are you doing in October? 12-14th

I will be teaching at a Crafty Connexions weekend in The Thurrock HotelAveley , Purfleet, Essex. Come and join in a weekend of fun. More details can be found on their website www.craftyconnexions.co.uk I will be teaching two different classes one will be learning a few different cards ( 3 to be exact) so if you are getting tired of the same old layouts this could be right up your street and the other class will be decorating an unusual container which would be perfect to hold a little gift for a friend or loved one. Looking forward to the classes, 2 full nights of sleep BLISS, but not leaving my little boys, especially Caiden who I havent left yet! So check out the website for more information and I hope to see you there!

More Crayon Resist and some others..

The dragonfly card here is another crayon resist card, again I was really pleased with these but they werent used. The bug wording is from Elzybells and the Dragonfly is from Penny Black. The Hedgehog card is made using Penny Black stamp and wording. I love this stamp as it can be used for Christmas or any other occasion, just colour the stars in different colours.

Here is the last of the Crayon resist cards. The wording again is by Elzybells (a stamping Caz designed stamp) and the beautiful butterfly is from Penny Black. Ask the Glitter Pot if they have these stamps in stock (the Penny Black ones) if they do not stock them they certainly should be able to order for you. The little bear card on the right is a simple one colour card and I made it using the cute Snowbeas from Stampendous, I believe the snowflake is a hero arts design and the Merry Christmas that is hiding is a Penny black one!

Some Crayon resist cards

I was looking upstairs and found a big bag of cards. Most of which have been returned from the magazines, but I was thinking a lot of people wouldnt have seen them so I would take a few photos and share them with you.

I made these cards for Quick Cards Made Easy using the Crayon Resist technique. I was really pleased with them and they didnt publish them! Bit annoying after making them sending them and not getting a bean for them and getting them sent back! I used Elyzbells flowers and leaves for these two cards and the wording is Penny Black. This technique is really easy and creates stunning results for some quick cards.

Here are two more from the same project comission. Again, they werent used :( Elzybells flowers used on the purple card and Penny Black butterflys used for the green card.

All this talk of the expressions machine...

I just thought I would tell you where you should be getting your expressions from! HERE is where I will be getting mine from. A lovely friendly store, great staff and fab stock. They have as well as the fab expressions machine got a HUGE range of Cuttlebug cutters and the machines. The machines come with a starter embossing and die set. 1 cutting die and 3 mini embossing folders and a great littel booklet which tells you more about the machine the plate sandwiches you need for using other dies and some fab samples. NOT ALL CUTTLEBUGS have these in, but crafts U Love do! PLEASE if you do go to this store to purchase either machine tell them Caz sent ya. Just means they know I am doing my job in helping promote these fantastic machines and their fabby shop!

So there is no guessing what my latest saving fund is for. Darren is fed up of me talking about he, he told me to get one and shut up! if only it were that easy, it helps to have the money :) LOL OK I am taking bets now..... how many days from todays post do you think it will take me to get the expressions??? Winner will get something of their choice cut from the BIG BUG when I get it :)

I am having a clear out!

I am having a clear out of my stamps. These will all have been used, some greatly, some gently all will still work though :) no matter how inky :) I will post a link when I have more details.

Monday, August 13

Oh its a happy day!

What a day I have had. For some reason I thought it would be today. The postman came and popped some letters through the letter box, then as I collected them I was compelled to look through the spy hole and yep there he was standing there with a packet in hand!

Looky what he brought me :)

OK he didnt bring me the paper stacks, those jumped on me whilst walking round a local garden centre today... but he brought me the Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge!! Whoooo Hoooo! Thank you to Kristen who brought this for me, she kindly brought the bundle and offered to sell on the other three cartridges so I only had to pay for one cartridge. I am very greatful to her :)))))

So Caiden missed his morning nap and napped after lunch, boy I have never wanted him to wake up so much as then! LOL So I could take him upstairs and I could have a play. Unfortunately for me I had lots of little helpers so I ended up making what they wanted and not what I wanted :) Still it is very much for the kids. Boy do I need the expression now!

Harvey and his Harvey pirate. Enya and her Enya Mermaid!
They loved making them and played with them afterwards. :)

Caiden and his Caiden baby :) in his babysuit. I should have added a dummy (pacifier) in this mouth.

Cricut Expression... almost there

I almost got my mitts on an expression. I really do want one, but do I need one? Just a little bit more cash and I could of had one and it does do AMAZING stuff. But my sensible head won the battle and certainly for now I am leaving it. I am sure I will get one one day, just not yet. Lets face it, I dont currently use my baby bug a whole lot right now. I would love to be able to make HUGE Mickeys and Paper Pups and I will one day, but I am waiting with baited breathe for SU to come on over to the UK, I am hearing murmerings of Fall, so I will need a few hundred pounds to be able to join as a hostess and get a starter kit I am sure. I think once I have got that purchase out of the way then I can either save for the expression or things might just take off with SU so much I wont have time!

Mondays Must not miss it!

OK for this weeks "Must not Miss it" I am not highlighting a card as such, but an entire blog that cant be missed CindyG from the Cricut forum has such a distinct style and I love it! Check out her blog here I have been a fan of Cindys since seeing her amazing flower box on the cricut forum, since then we have have seen many many others and their take on her idea. I myself had a go too. Thanks Cindy for all your inspiring projects! I am pleased to have found your blog.

Silly-o-clock posting

OK 5.45am isnt that silly but I have been up an hour so in my head thats silly-o-clock. Caiden decided he just wanted to moan and groan and roll all night, I must have been woken at least 10 times. So when he woke at 4;45am I felt him and he was wet through, so I brought him down to change him, changed him, re dressed him, gave him some milk and now he is asleep on the sofa. Everytime I tried to pick him up to take him up to bed he woke, so I have given in and am now sitting here in the half dark blogging! What else to do at silly-o-clock!

So I have read my 37 emails, I have yet to go through my blog list (yes I do read my entire blog list - see right - every morning) I have made myself a cuppa and I thought I could ramble on a bit (not like me I hear you say)... we had a nice afternoon yesterday, weather was a bit showery, but we decided to still go to a local steam fair. Well Harvey was so excited it was like he had never been taken out before! We walked around the market stalls and then stopped by a "hot donut" stall. Yummy hot donuts sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon :) YUMMY. Then Harvey and Darren went on a steam engine ride. Harvey loved bumping all around the field in the trailer. Whilst they were doing that I took Caiden to the fun fair and we wont a cuddly snake! Of course when Harvey saw that he wanted to have a go and he won himself a sword! Such a boy! Then we found a giant wavy slide. I wasnt sure if he would like it, but I went up with him, it was 3 goes for £2, an extra £1 if I wanted to come down the slide at the end! LOL I decided to walk down the steps, but was tempted :) He loved it, he bombed down so fast, I am sure his face was a picture, I couldnt see it as I was up the top making sure he got into his mat ok.

Lots of stamping yesterday afternoon as well, but non I can share, its all magazine sutff. I may just show a peek at one part of one. Oh how I love Penny Black. I love Bellas, Stampendous, SU ect ect BUT I will always love Penny Black and I had fun colouring in some Christmas designs and I thouroughly enjoyed it.
Here is a bella card I made for Kim, it was the first of our neverending RAKs. I need to sort Samms out this week. I got Kims done was I was seeing her at my class this weekend so I thought it would be a chance to save a few pennies postage.

Paper is DCWV card stack - pocketfull of posies
Jewel is doodlebug (from Glitter pot)
Ribbon is Lilac spotted ribbon (from Glitter pot)

Classes done

And went well. I nearly went in and deleted the post from yesterday as it seemed so moany but I decided to leave it, that was how I was feeling yesterday. I love doing the classes but it is stressful for me as I am not great at believing in myself. But I think everyone enjoyed it.

The morning class was jacobs ladder, it was quiet concentrated but we all made sucessful ladders and they all worked (a couple needed adjusting but we got there in the end). The second class was making a "joy fold" card and a tent topper. I made 4 samples and sort of left people to it. I was there helping people with the cricut and showing people the wonders of it!

So here are the cards I made :

I added wording in a circle to the Monkey card but I didnt take a photo of this. I made this one using my beloved paper stack :)
Also today got a chance to hand deliver my first "Neverending RAK" to Kim. She loved it and the ribbons I popped inside. I need to get working on my one for Samm. I thought I would save a few pennies and take Kims into the class.

Todays ramblings... getting ready for classes

As you know, I have two classes tomorrow. I am really excited about the jacobs ladder as its such an amazing project. I have made two cards for the afternoon class, two different ones and I have made 4 cards in total to show them. Three I am pleased with and one I dont like. I asked Darren and Harvey and of course they dont know, Harvey loves everything and its all Bootiful to him, Darren just says "hmm yeah". If I have a chance I will make another one tonight. Its funny whenever I feel like this I take the card to the class and sometimes it ends up being everyones favourite. Although I doubt it. Anyway, I always feel a bit stressed out before a class, people have paid money for this and I wonder if they will like it. The evening before I have to pack everything up and I worry I will forget one of the vital things. This time I have to pack my cricut, cuttlebug and stamping stuff so I have a lot to remember. Another problem is doing it with the boys, Darren has his Friday night pub night so he will be out for longer so its even less time to do it. Not to mention BIG BROTHER is on tonight and its eviction night so I cant miss it :) I dont mean to moan, I love my job, but its not all the fun stuff, its the preperation and packing. Once the class starts and I have finished my intial introduction to the class I can relax and enjoy it.

I cant wait for they day that I can be teaching a class or demoing Bellas or I am really in love with. Sometimes stock at stores can be limited, especially stamps , or others might be restricted in their colouring items so it makes it harder.

Anyway enough rambling... I want to share these lovely Bellas with you. I was lucky enough to get images of these two so I made these last night. One was whilst Darren was in the garden with the boys and he thought I was working. This was when I made my pants card for the class but ended up make two alright bella cards. I think they were just taking my mind away from what I should be doing.

This is the huggybellas and my new love, my retro paper stack :) Yummy scrummyumtious.

This is giddyupabella. I love her too, BUT I am going to say something that I have only thought before now and will no doubt cause some people not to agree. Now dont get be wrong, I do love her, I do love the horse BUT I would have preferred to have her on her own and not with the horse. Thats just my personal opinion... Maybe an option to buy a horse to go with her.
There, I said it! LOL It was hard as I love Em's designs. :)
Does make a cute card. And I used the paisley from SU cowboy kid. How I wish that one made the big catalogue. It was a cute one.
